This time I actually managed to get some of the micartas, as well as this giraffe bone. I am very pleased with the almost black colour. All the other giraffe and camel bone handles I own are various shades of brown.

The more I looked at these the frame and blade shape look to work extremely well together. Can't wait to see one in person. This might even be more appreciated for the wharncliffe blade than some other handle types with them imo. This handle pattern looks perfect with that wharncliffe! At first I was bummed, know I'm siked!

Keeping it simple. Like I said before, the wharncliff blade looks great with the dogleg frame. I do like the way we can see so many layers of Micarta because the handles are rounded on the sides.

There's a whole thread recently about what folks look for in selecting stag but what do you guys think about picking out giraffe bone/mammoth? I was quiclkly scanning through these on the KSF site and saw a tremendous amount of variation, from nearly white to almost black and many, many shade of brown. What does it for you?

Got a denim which apeeared to sell out the fastest. Went back for a giraffe bone and watched them disappear @$189.95 before I could grab one.
I'm still hoping for the mystery 78.

For me personally I look for shades of orange. In person the orange is subdued compared to the images. It's very appealing to me. Maybe because it's not very common. Generally I prefer orange as the primary color and the more other colors the better. The picture below is mine - it's a more realistic hue than the KSF image. I also like the cracks in giraffe if stable - solid black lines.

I went with the "tan" burlap. Not sure why KSF labeled it "tan" burlap. Looks a lot like prior Northwoods burlap runs.

I snagged a Denim. I almost got one more in burlap but I think I'll save up for the next run...I think i have plenty of NW wharncliffes so far.

I got lucky on this 85 today.....Plenty of orange shade and appeal on its way
