Let's talk Northwoods

Oh so not only was the whole ordeal this afternoon a joke, but as I was being cart swiped, they STILL took the liberty of charging me the $150 for the Delta Jack that I didnt even get to purchase.

Man, rough day. Call them and see what they say, you might have still gotten lucky and never got the email confirmation.

Back to the knives and not the ordering process...

I would have liked to have seen another sawcut bone variant this time around. I think some sawcut elderberry bone would look awesome (as long as it didn’t come out too pink).

I was really hoping for denim micarta as that is my favorite variant. But at least I was able to score a cocobolo.
Anyone have idea on when these will ship?

Just got the tracking number. Ironically, IMHO, what some say was a less than stellar drop, actually created a true level playing field. As for the desire for different covers, I understand, but for those who never scored, it was a thrill to get one. The more I re-watched Derrick’s videos on his church window Madison Barlow, the more I appreciated his creativity, and miss his spirit and contributions to our knife community. Three cheers for his family and team for carrying on his legacy.

I want to make a small complaint to Northwoods. One of my favorite covers in the past that Northwoods seemed to pioneer was the blue denim micarta. Especially when the blue was very blue and had the look of faded/well-worn blue jeans. Like this one... (Not my picture)

I haven’t bought any Blue Denim micarta Northwoods for a while because most of the one’s I have received looked like this, which does nothing for me. So, Northwoods would you please make your blue denim micarta more consistently good looking?

Well said, dog.

Myself, I like the more consistent blue finish like on the Bullnose.

The last few drops I had to decide within 1 minute. This time around I actually was able to look around a bit. What do you mean by "church window"?

In one of Derrick’s videos, he stated that instead of the traditional Barlow pattern, he chose another, older, less common one, and Derrick referred to it as an older “church window Barlow” pattern. He took great pride in specing out his Northwoods, particularly his Madison Barlow.
