Let's talk Queen/S&M

I'm new to BF, and this is my first post. I got kind of fired up when I saw the thread...

Welcome huelsdonk. Great first post! Hope you get "fired up" often. :)

I only have three Queens in my knife collection. Right now I only have pictures of two of them on Photobucket right now. Both are great knives. The other knife I have is a stockman.

Model 39F Q78

Model 45 Big Chief

Well the rail splitter showed up today. Pretty nice knife for under $80. I'm pleasantly surprised. Liking the lack of a half stop.

Nice looking knife!

Yours must be a 2016 model. To the best of my knowledge, Queen used to use a different shield on their ACSB knives and that shield was glued on. Yours looks like the shield that Queen uses when they pin it on. I talked to Ryan Daniels at a knife show earlier this year and he told me that all Queen shields will be pinned from now on. That was in late January.

Here's an example of the different shields. The Canoe in ACSB sports the older glued on shield which Queen used to use on their ACSB knives. The Railsplitter below it sports the pinned shield like the one on your Railsplitter. Nice to see that the change has evidently been made.

I think that particular shield logo is one of the cooler knife logos around. Glad to finally have a knife with it.

For years now I've had a ton of respect for "QUEEN Cutlery". They are truly an old school company that has adapted nicely. About a year ago a friend of mine who works at our local airport ( KCI-Kansas City, MO) brought me a box of knives that his friends from the security terminal gave him. In the box I found a QUEEN fixed blade paring knife model B0404. I was a bit skeptical thinking it wouldn't hold a candle to some of my newer kitchen knives but much to my most pleasant surprise it sharpened up very nicely and it keeps a very nice workable edge as well.

I've noticed that QUEEN does indeed have a great heat treating process and their knives are far from being second rate. Also I have a farmer friend of mine who I've known for years. He has only carried and used QUEEN knives ever since I've known him. And he is a really demanding person too.

I think QUEEN Cutlery has a nice future ahead of them and I'm sure going to be keeping an eye on their new, upcoming models for sure.

Very nice PR

Been eyeing those, just wish it was carbon steel. Queen has been putting out a lot of stainless knives lately. I need some D2 in my life lol
