Life changing quotes (Maybe, "life lessons" would be a better fit?)

Never impose on others what you would not choose for yourself.

— Confucius (Kong Fuzi), Analects XV.24

"You need to find a way to live your life, that it doesn't make a mockery of your values."

and, simply,

Carpe Diem

These two pretty much say it all for me.

I think the world could be a lot better place if we could remember this moral more often (source unknown but attributed to many individuals) -

I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good thing, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow human being let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.

This one is my favorite.

"Anything worth doing is worth doing right."
-Hunter S. Thompson.

Another good one...

"The most valuable of all education is the ability to make yourself do the thing you have to do, when it has to be done, whether you like it or not."
- Aldous Huxley

This one too.

"There is only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that's your own self."
- A. Huxley

This was introduced to me some 10years back by a very spiritual indian colleague. It is applicable to all associations, companies and clubs you are in. It separates the takers from the givers, the ordinary person from the gentleman.

"Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country." JFK.

A friend told me this a few weeks ago...

"If you keep putting your 4th step off, you'll be putting it off all the way to the bar."

Always aim high. You may still miss your target, but at least you won’t shoot your foot off.

Louis McMaster Bujold.

If you are always working extra hours, then there is something wrong with either you or your job.

True...

No one on their death bed, ever said, "Gee... I wish I'd spent more time at work."

Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't...you're right!

I believe this came from Henry Ford.

I think the words were., We're going to Lay You Off.

The Baby showed up just days later.

This probably won't mean anything to alot of people, but it means alot to lifters.

"The Iron is the best antidepressant I have ever found. There is no better way to fight weakness than with strength. Once the mind and body have been awakened to their true potential, it’s impossible to turn back.

The Iron never lies to you. You can walk outside and listen to all kinds of talk, get told that you’re a god or a total bastard. The Iron will always kick you the real deal. The Iron is the great reference point, the all-knowing perspective giver. Always there like a beacon in the pitch black.

I have found the Iron to be my greatest friend. It never freaks out on me, never runs. Friends may come and go. But two hundred pounds is always two hundred pounds" – Henry Rollins

Two things.

A Vietnam helicopter pilot, (he flew slicks), was told something by his instructor when he was learning to fly.

There is always a way.

Doesn't sound like much, does it?

Think about it. No matter how difficult something is, if you really want to do it, there is always a way.

Gajinoz about 15 years ago I was whining to my Martial Arts instructor that there was no way for me to go back to school to get my degree and become a teacher. He looked me in the eye and said if you want it bad enough you will find a way.
Truest words I have ever heard. Every time I can't see a way I ask myself how bad do I want it.

Also briongs to mind a quote for Napolean.
The difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.

Slower = better. Better = faster.

Reminds me of the movie Shooter. When the sniper is teaching the agent to sharpshoot, he said," Slow is smooth, smooth is fast."
I finally figured out what this means. It means if you go too fast you'll mess up and have to start all over again. But if you take your time you won't have to and you'll reach your destination faster. But definetalty my favorite(not counting ones in the Bible, or else I wouldn't have enough space) is " There's always away." And one I have made myself(though someone else could have said it," Your only defeated when you stop trying."

"Once you realize how much of a joke everything is, being the comedian is the only thing that makes any sense."
-Comedian, Watchmen
"Luck ain't even lucky/ go to make your own breaks"
-"It's My Life", Bon Jovi
And another Bon Jovi one, summing up the way I treat idiots, etc:
"Have a nice day."
