Light weight 3.5"+ blade EDC?

Plus one for this recommendation.

I looked closely at the Air Lite and decided I really want an axis/crossbar lock since I don't have any knives that have that type of lock.

Hence the two I'm trying to decide between - the Hogue Mysto and Kershaw Bel Air XL.

There's a very sharp 940 in my pocket right now. At least I think it is. Practically weightless at 2.9 oz. until flipped open...Effortlessly.

Fantastic looking knife...but $200 is my absolute maximum price (and it probably should be much lower than that).

Too bad but I get it. This is my second one. A favored grandson snagged the first one. But the joke's on him. This one is S35VN. Might be the ultimate 5th pocket knife.

Don't let him know about the blade! Grandson's are incredible aren't they!?! Had my first one last year and he just learned to say grandpa a couple days ago!

Maybe once I retire I'll purchase something in that price range. I'm a 7th grade Math teacher so I can't carry a knife to work. Starting my 36th year in several weeks and can't wait - love being around my students so much...they are such an incredible blessing to my life! But if I ever do retire (my teaching license runs out when I'm 92 years old, so maybe then), I think an upper echelon EDC would be a nice present to myself.

I am going to go simple, I know the 110 slim has been suggested, but I feel the 110 LT is a good solid feel with a thicker handle. Just my two cents,wait….no more Pennies and you are a math teacher….round up to 5 cents. Have the students commented on rounding up or down for new prices? Thanks for staying in the trenches ( teaching ) and giving back to them, it may take some time, but it will show.

If the two above, I like the Kershaw.

I have not used either knife, but I do not care for carbon fiber as the knives I have used with it I found slippery. G10 is very durable, although not my favorite. Richlite is an under appreciated material imo. Feels nice, not slippery, looks nice.

I had a chance to handle a carbon fiber knife yesterday and you're 100% correct...it was incredibly slippery - most slippery knife I've ever handled. Thank you for letting me know that before ordering this knife!!!

I haven't had to discuss that with them yet but I guess I'll have to this year - some tend to struggle with rounding already, this will really confuse them!

I appreciate your kind words. I absolutely love teaching. Many people think I'm crazy for not retiring 6 years ago when I first could have, but I love being around the students too much to retire. Luckily they show their appreciate each year with kind notes and words, which makes me love it even more.
