I had similar trouble finding stores that carry them so I seem to end up buying them online , you could always ask (or suggest) a local sporting goods store that carries Ka-Bar products to order some in most local places are pretty cool with that sort of thing.

No need to get complicated.
You prefer the 9. ;)

Hey, Daizee;
How near the water are you? It just scrolled on the bottom of the TV screen that East Haven, Fairfield, and one other town are starting mandatory evacuations at 0800 tomorrow of the coastal areas.

I don't know what I want.... BK-2 or BK-7. I already have the 9 and 11 and 3

If you dont have a 2 then thats definetly what you need, you have both your 3 and 9 for any large task and 11 for the small, you need a middle ground blade, id say get the 2 but dont leave the tweeners out

No need to get complicated.

I think i would prefer the 9 really but i keep hearing i need to hold a 7, i think either is a good choice lol. but my next becker will be a 16 or 17. im really having alot of trouble deciding between these 2, i love drop points but i like the look of the 17 and like that it would be a little different than my other blades. but then again i dont wanna go 17 just to wish i stuck with a drop point, but after i figure that dilemma out then ill grab a 9 :)

this is another reason i wish i knew of a local store, ordering online is cool but you dont get to hold the blades and really see what its like in your hand. i mean in the store you can tell if you like the feel of the knife. like if i order the 17, i might wish i didnt switch up, but if i order the 16 i know ill be happy but ill still always wonder about the 17. the best answer is always get them both/all but us poor people cant always do such a thing :)

man, nothing like having to fly home in a storm :)

Holy crap.
I'm about 10mi inland, well past any storm surge. The house is halfway up a rather tall valley/hill.
We got real lucky last year. The storm passed about 150mi west of us and the worst of the damage stopped right at the CT border. We're more prepared this time, but there's only so much you can do...

So,

Me and the misses are debating over a boy name for the little one we have on the way.

I suggested the name Ethan tonight (she knows I'm into knives but does not know the specifics such as favorite knife designers, so no connection there for her).

She said it's a good name and we will put it in the running.

HOW BADA$$ WOULD THAT BE!?!?!?!?!

Would his middle name be Becker?

To my fellow east coast beckerheads, stay safe out there. This is going to be an interesting next couple of days.

I'm mostly concerned for my parents, my dad lives in Maryland near the coast and my mom in NJ (thankfully more inland)

Tell me about it! I've been moving lawn furnature and potted plants for days now. Got the 8500-watt generator set, and 50+ gallons of treated gas on hand! Bring it on! :D

Not really a question, just a rant lol. Been looking for something used for my boys first Becker, and nobody has one to get rid of. I'll just take the plunge on a new one this week. Its really a testament to the blades themselves, nobody wants to part with em!
Sorry bout the confusion.

Also, they're only about $30-40 new... so after knocking down the price a few dollars, paypal fee, and shipping it's not really worth selling on the fourms.

For the $15-20 I'd get by selling one I'd rather just keep it or gift it to somebody.
