So I decided against the Urban and opted for the DKPK or DenmarK PenKnife. That's the trimmed down version of the UKPK. It features a 2 11/16" blade which is smaller than the UKPK and just a hair larger than the Urban, and it still maintains the same ergos and scales as the UKPK. Plus it's S30V, USA made, and available in black blah blah blah.

And as usual the S30V was hair popping sharp right out of the box.

Another fine little cutter and a gem to add to the collection.:)

Wow. The Spyder Hole on the UKPK just looks HUGE next to the DKPK. Have you found you can't open it with one hand? I was curious about the filled in hole.

That seems pretty useless when you have a UKPK. It's like the down syndrome version you would only buy if you had to, but hey, go USA, and whatnot.

The DKPK spyderhole was made too small to be functional deliberately. Danish law forbid one-hand openers.

I can still open it with one hand, with the thumb, or via Spyderdrop, not as easily though. :)

But I usually use two hands on the UKPK anyways because of the two staged slipjoint.

i was going to pass on the urbans when i saw this, but i've grown fond of tiny knives.
ever consider modding a thumb stud on it just for shits and giggles?

I don't really get the collector mentality, I guess. It's just a stunted, and therefore irrelevant UKPK to me.

answered before i even asked!

is danish law also the reason for the slightly shorter blade, but identical (?) handle, than the ukpk?

I don't know. They used to be Vikings. The smaller the blade, the more of them you can make when you melt down one sword. :)

Let me explain it simply for J85909266.

This knife provides the blade length, shape, and control of the Urban, but with better ergos, better blade steel, and it's black, not green or orange.;)

Bah, whatever. I see through this post, but this isn't the kind of forum that allows you to keep it real in these circumstances. Moving along.

....neat little Spydie..... you don't see much talk about these. Thanks for the post and comparison with with the UKPK. It looks to be just about all anyone could ask for and need in an urban EDC ! I like it !

Nice knife and pics 5.56:thumbup: In addition to my main EDC I usually carry something smaller in my back pocket like a Kershaw Scallion or my Spyderco Rookie. That DKPK looks like a great little knife for that type of carry.

Enjoy it:)

First pictures I've seen of this model. Thanks for posting them.
I'll stick with my UKPK as I like being able to easily open it with one hand. That is still a neat looking knife....enjoy it.
