Lil Temperance 3 - I must be missing something!

Thanks, twinboy. Do you have a favorite Spyderco?
I chose the LT3 because I rally like the evolution of this folder and have really come to like the Leaf blade. If I like a knife, I buy it. I think I paid $200. for the original Lil Temp. I don't see the difference.

Favorite? Caly 3.5, Native 5 LW s110v, Ayoob. Man, the new one is nice and for someone who didn't love the original (or never held one) it is great. To me the original scales felt like they were made for my hand and the 4mm blade stock was overbuilt. I sold mine to Wireedge Roger only because they pocket clip was such a cluster f. And I liked the green G10!! If I am honest with myself, this knife doesn't need 4mm stock but it was cool on the original. I will say on the same B&M trip the new D'Allara 3 blew me away. Probably will get a D'A 3 when they get discounted a bit

Nice models! ^ And you are correct, let your hand guide you.
This is what I love about Spyderco, I don't have a favorite, I have a few favorites!
btw, I thought the original Lil Temp was too expensive when it first came out.

I love the blade of the original LilT, but not the handle. I filed it down to get rid of the finger cutoffs that were not ergonomic at all to my hands, and I ended up with a shape that looks a lot like the new LilT 3, so I have to say I like the new design a lot. I just don't need another S30V blade. I am not a collector so much as an accumulator of knives I want to use, and I have accumulated a lot. so I have the luxury of being picky. If the LilT3 had a cruwear blade, I'd buy it immediately :) Or 4V or the new HT 3V. I know, I'm picky. So I agree with Lycosa about the design, but will probably pass unless a sprint in a steel I want appears.

Thanks, dogrunner! Well said.
Spyderco does so well with their heat-treatment, S30V never factored in to my purchase.

Agree. While s30v is really adequate steel, at this price point I "want" more. Guess I am spoiled

Got my Lil'Temp 3 gut shovel today, liking it a lot so far. Wasn't as sharp as I like so I touched it up on my medium grit Spyderco stone & finished it on my fine grit. Pocket clip was too tight so I took it off and bent it a bit. Now it is snug and I don't have to fight it putting it in & taking it out of my pocket.

Gut shovel. :D
Thanks for the pix, Halfneck.
I think your going to be EDCing this one a lot!

Lycosa - Yup this will probably be one of my primary EDCs for a while. Won't work well with some pairs of my work khakis, so on those days I'll rotate in my Delica or Manix 2 LW.

Still some more fiddling around with it to get it right. I really like how the outer edges of the G10 are rounded off, but the inner edges are a bit sharp. So sometime soon I am going to take some fine grit sandpaper to them.

Cool.
Have you tried, gawd forbid, tip down?
Yea, you want to get er just-right.
thanks.

Not a fan of Tip-down. Only knives I have/had that I carried that way were a Benchmade/Emerson CQC-7 and a Spyderco Jot Singh Khalsa. Only reason being Tip-up was not an option.

I think it will be real interesting if Spyderco comes out with a FRN Lil'Temp 3 like Sal mentioned on the Spyderco forum.

Understood.^
Yep, the FRN LT3 is going to happen. In different colors too, I think.
