If you’re looking for a truly rare Benchmade piece, this is it. Fewer than 100 were ever produced in 2005—most collectors cite 93, though some say 95 with two scrapped during assembly due to damaged parts and no spares. This one is #50, making it a standout from an already tiny run.
This balisong showcases an absolutely gorgeous high‑hollow‑ground Bowie blade paired with milled leftover Model 45 stainless‑steel handles, precision‑cut into a latchless configuration. The Imada high‑hollow S30V blade is the star of the show: an extremely deep hollow grind, a crowned spine, and a needle‑fine tip that collectors love.
Adding even more exclusivity, Armoral Leather’s Dwayne Puckett (“Leatherman”) created a one‑of‑a‑kind custom leather sheath specifically for this run—something you simply won’t find again. This model also holds a special place in Benchmade history as the first latchless balisong released since the custom‑shop era, despite Benchmade previously stating they would no longer produce latchless models due to legal concerns.
You’ll get the original sheath, box, and papers with the knife. I picked it up third‑hand, and it remains in excellent to near‑mint condition—a remarkable state for a piece this scarce.
$2500, with PayPal fees and USPS Priority Mail shipping included.
