I keep seing alot of people are unhappy that they cant get a Game Warden or what ever they want from the company store, if i was a knife maker i would evryone out there have the opurtuntiy to have these great blades at the cost i was selling them for.So why not limit how many can be purchased from the store in a 24 hour period a fair # like 2 or 3 user and safe Queen im sure they all would still get sold and the Busse legend would spread further more knives SOLD JERRY. The people makeing profits should be the manufacturer not the big HOGS any thoughsts:eek:

Agree. Not my business though. I don't particularly like working through the "dealer" network. I will probably limit my purchases from now on to orders through the company itself. I would like an orange or green GW but with 4 kids and a wife I can't sit at the computer drinking and hitting f5 for hours. This is why I will never be a hog. Like the knives alot though.

Find a stealth hog to sit by puter and buy a couple for you. Limiting the # sold per individual won't put more $$ in the manf. pocket. Sold is sold. Maybe due to the production level potential is the reason for putting out the runs the way they do. Not my buisness, I don't have the inside knowledge of Boss Hog either. I think he knows what he's doing though as it's been growing and prospering for some time now.

My sentiments also. I run a small business and have a baby to deal with and I also cannot sit around all day with my index finger super glued to the F5 button of my keyboard. I think that JERRY BUSSE needs to address this situation and make it fair for all his fans to be able to acquire his products.
This buying 20+ knives at the store, when there are 50 available is a slap in the face to all of us who actually have a life in reality...

how about something like a 5 knife limit for each blade/handle finish choice? I don't think it would be fair to the uber-porkers to limit the total amount they can buy. But, if a limit was placed on how much of each blade/handle combo a person could buy at least those of us who just want one or two user blades would have a better chance at getting them.

I really want a GW myself. Its pretty much my exact image of a perfect edc blade but I won't, on general principle, purchase one on the exchange from the people posting them there at a significant mark up while they are still being produced by Busse Co. and still being sold at the company store.

I agree with the second part of the statement above but with respect to AC_Doctor, my understanding of it is that Busse Knives and the Company store are independent entities and this is not an issue that Mr. Busse needs to address. I do think that some limits need to be set though before all of us fiscally and/or time challenged individuals give up in frustration.

I personally like it the way that it is. I like the excitement of trying to get one knowing I may not. And believe me, there are plenty that I have not gotten, not because I didn't want or couldn't afford it, but because I had other things to do. The most recent example of this was last night when I missed out on the Muddy Mojo Variants. Yes, I wanted one, but I was out looking at Christmas lights around the neighborhood with my family. Oh well, maybe next time!

I am not a fair-weather fan. I like Busse and will be there to try and get them, stormy weather (tons of HOGs, very limited models) or not.

I think either way it works out. I've seen some stuff that seems outlandish and in poor taste, but to each his own. I think the extravaganzaas and such are fun. Even better if they split the wardens over several nights to keep people guessing even more

I am for term limits but not cart limits. I have two kids and work too, but I am not for limiting purchase numbers. I am as disgusted about someone buying a ton and turning them out a week later on the secondary for a gross profit. To them I say, you will get none of my money. But for those who snag a few blades here and there and hold them as I do, I have no quarrel.

For me the hunt is a big part of the fun of collecting. If I could just call up and get what I wanted right now, I assure you I would lose intrest rather quickly. Jerry knows his business and business is obviously good. Skunk is no slouch when it comes to business either. He and Vicki do an excellent job with the company store. If it where not for them opening the store, you would have only the website and the secondary market, be thankful they entered into the venture.

secret info coming ;)

i usually list 75% of the shipment on the first strike and the rest later. reason is to make sure the shopping cart, hosting and reporting is correct. we do not list anything that is not in house and ready for immediate shipping.

when 40 hogs buy a knife at the exact same second, it is impossible for the shopping cart host to subtract the orders fast enough. if we list 200 knives we usually sell 250 before the cart catches up. so i have to hold back a few to handle this.

good point progunner. the best knife I never knew existed I got at the comapny store. and if it weren't for the company store I never would have known it existed and never would have had a chance to own one. Thats the fatty SFNO I'm talking about. I believe I got the last fatty sold by the CS.

So Skunks, please don't take what I said above as being in any way against you. In fact, I thank you both for making these great knives more available to us all. Its just that I think that for limited runs of knives in high demand, some sort of quantity limit should be set so that we ALL can have a chance to own, use and abuse them without getting hit over the head on the secondary market.

Man oh man. I dont come here too often, but I never thought Id see when people here were whining because they couldnt get a knife becasue someone else got there first. There are only so many blades made, and when they are gone, they are gone, no matter how. What next, Busse should hold some back to allow new people to buy models sold 4 years ago because someone didn't know about Busse? Only have the extravaganzas when ALL those who want a knife will be able to post? I dont see you complaining about the timing of the extravaganzas. What about those who work weekends and cannot get in on them? Grow up guys, and quit acting like there is some form of entitlement going on.
There is only one reason people are buying and selling at a high markup, because there are people paying that markup.
If people quit paying it, prices will adjust down. Simple economics.
One guy mentioned "fiscally" challenged. Change your personal finance program to fit your hobby, that simple.
Why cant people just understand/accept that we are all not entitled to have what we want at a price we want when we want it.
Get over it. Sheesh.

I think you misunderstand me fatboy. I can afford to pay the secondary markup price but...well.. I won't, not for a blade that is still being produced and sold by the CS at least. Thanks for the advice though! :)

how about a warden that was finished just like these?

satin with black G-10  ;)

AC DR.

Who bought 20+ when there were only 50? I know that you're not talking about ME as there were PLENTY more than 50 of the Skelly Wardens. Also... I notice that you have 3 Blackwoods in your avatar pic. It took me a loooooooong time to get my hands on a Neck Ninja, myself. Should I be complaining about how you must be HOGGIN' up his stuff??? His knives are MUCH harder to come by and his wait time is in the years and here you are, showing off three. Now, I don't mind this, heck I almost reached out to ya one night to compliment you on your taste in custom knives...! :)
ALSO, not many other knife companies allow you access THIS close to the top HOGS. Not many COMPANIES in general give you more access than a customer service number. (Please hold.)
Lastly, who do I see giving up 90% of the grumbling here about this subject? Basic members and registered users. Here y'all are... bashing & grumbling on a forum that hates spam and doesn't clog our pages with worthless (but income generating) advertisements with your cheapest or FREE memberships while Spark continues to struggle to run this site at a loss and with NO COMPLAINING. Ya wanna take some more shots at me for out HOGGING you?? UPGRADE YOUR MEMBERSHIP here on BF.com. Jeez. It really isn't that much more of a fee for the crap I'm taking for free. 'Nuff said.
Jaxx:cool:

PS. 'Skunk, put me down for 30 of those!!! ;) :D
