Limited Run BK77 w/S30V and Micarta *Read for info from Kabar*, worth the $$$?

What is the blade thickness ? Is it the same as a standard one ? It says it is HD & specially made for soldiers but does not say the thickness.

go forth young lad

with mouse in hand

it lists them both

in the promise land :)

I did. Nothing listed for the BK-77, which is what it is listed as on the KaBar site that was posted in post #3.

Gawdamn I'm glad I just clicked that link, that pic in the database reinforces the reason I bought it. That is friggen beautiful.

Bladite: Might I ask how much you picked yours up for at the show? I've never attended a show so I don't even know how great "show prices" are.

think of it as the ultimate Becker custom model :) how much would you pay for someone to strip a standard model, provide micarta, and a different sheath? mmm. remember, mirror polished :)

The thing that surprises me however is the fact that Ka-Bar's own website provides what is possibly the worst picture in the world. If I received a knife in the mail that looked like that I'd be royally pissed.

All,

Because you guys are a crazy but righteous bunch, KA-BAR is doing the following:

We have 32 BK-77s left in inventory. They all have small cosmetic blemishes that will not
affect performance. I have been authorized by the KA-BAR Grand Poohbahs to clear them out of inventory.
We are lowering the retail price to $200 Dollars!
If you placed an order this last week, you will receive the lower price.
Last chance as we will not make the Bk-77 again.
Let the fun begin.

Now, a bit of a dilemma. I ordered one yesterday and would'nt even have considered using it, given its' very limited production. But even with its' limited run, it is essentially a factory 'second'. I have'nt decided whether I'll use it or not. I'm leaning towards having the scratches buffed out and then shelving it. Might have to snag another one to use!!!!

I just got a call from KaBar saying the same thing as Toog posted. All of them that are left will go for $200.00. Looks like a good oportunity for an outstanding user!!!

A regular 7 with Micarta is gonna' run what, aprox. $100 anyway ? Get a S30V blade for another C note. Not bad.

Yeap, I got the call, because of slight cosmetic imperfections in the blade, the price has been reduced. I asked her if it was "that bad" and she replied that it was minor so I kept the order.
