I think the difference is in the amount of force and the torque - bending on your knees or sitting on a chair and hitting the floor you get much more power into the blow then you would sitting down in front of a table of regular height.
The pictures show Mike Turber using a table from a distance - I think this way you have almost as much torque.
The best way to see the difference - try it yourself.
But by god - be careful, some of the liner locks snap close before you can say:
