liner- locks????

You will probably be happy with it - Buck service is good, and they offer custom work. But when I sent mine in, they shipped me another that also failed the spinewhack - and I told them that was the only problem. It may be they can do nothing about it.

How are the shipping and customs charges in and out of Spain? This may have a bearing on your decision.

I'm thinking like SIFU1A in that excluding all LL's will cause you to miss out on some great designs. I'm also a big fan of properly executed liner locks. This is one that snaps the blade in as you close the knife (detent and detent hole are precisely lined) and one that has a stiff spring, due to a shorter bend, when opened. My limited experience has shown me that a liner lock as described will not be any more likely to fail than another type of lock. I always thought that the thicker the liner the less likely the liner would fail.......well that is not always the case as with the proper geometry a thin liner will hold better than a thick liner that does not have the proper geometry. At least that is how brain perceives the situation!:D

It will cost me about 10$ to send it out. Since I'm not buying anything there shouldn't be any custom problems but you never know.

I think I'll post in the Buck forum and see what they tell me (I hope they don't give the knife back to me with the same spine whack problem...)

Thanks!
