Lion Steel "Roundhead" Euro-Barlow

This is my most anticipated knife of the year so far. The steel is awesome, and I really like the look of the knife. A very nice mix of modern and traditional. It'll also be my first knife with ram's horn covers.

If it works out well, I'll definitely be looking for a second one, to mod with some canvas micarta covers.

Agreed. I am curious however to the level of heat treat Lionsteel takes their M390. Ive read they may have issues, but I am taking that with a bit of hesitation as their reputation and awards would speak otherwise. We'll have to see after a few honest folks use theirs. Maybe you will let know your thoughts Buzz after you use yours a bit. I probably wont use mine enough to give a fair reveiw.

I had one in Ram's Horn on reserve but I changed it when I had expected it to be ready in May, wasn't going to be able to responsibly afford it. Now I can only hope there will be some stock to choose from once they become available. Based on the info on the Early Reserve page, looks like there should be plenty.

Is this based on anything or just assuming that it will be ready soon?
Well with how far it has been pushed it seems to be something that is just around the corner and based on current situation and pay frequency I expect to still be in trouble to come up with the cost of the Stag version which to me is the best looking.

I setup the "Maybe" reminder as money is too much of a question at this time but if money can turn to a "Sure" that will be changed.

This is from the CK Lion Steel Roundhead Product Discription in Early Reserve:

Expected release: May 2017 Mid June 2017 Anxiously Waiting

Since this looks like sort of a modular design, maybe someone will come out with aftermarket scales for it. Like different color jigged & saw cut bone, stag, ebony, or even G10. Then, instead of buying multiple knives with different scales, you could just change the scales when you feel like it.

Or, one could get Ram's Horn and have the best scales right off the bat! :)

I wonder if we will see pics of the different types before we make a 'maybe' into a sale? I have a definite on CF and maybe on a stag.

Which to me only adds to the any minute feeling.
I understand your view. I took it mean, " I want it as bad as you...but it gets here when it gets here". I'd say it's at once clever and purposely vague.

I hope someone comes up with an embellishment for the screws. Similar to engraving on firearms. Possibly a choice of patterns to blend with different scales. Just a thought.

Im hoping for a second run. I think the customization guys wont do many after market options for only one run. Who knows though

I agree. I took it to mean "I'm done even trying to guess when these will be ready, who knows at this point".

It would have been pretty nice to see a sample of each handle material, but I'm still pretty confident this will be really cool.

I know...a hope against hope. It's personal aesthetics the screws grab my eyes. For instance they will probably look fine in a CF industrial style, but I wonder if they will overwhelm the Abalone. A second run with fancy screws would be nice. Or a last minute screw face lift on the current iteration. A guy can dream?
