I can tell you for a fact that not all sebbies come sharp ;). Some come with uneven bevels that go from 35 degrees to 50 before tip.
 
I guess I got luck. My SR-1 came very sharp and I'm looking forward to the Lionspy that was supposed to be out several months ago. Come on now lets get them shipped out.

even though i understand your point, complaining that your new knife isn't sharp is like complaining that your new car doesn't have a full tank of gas. you will eventually need to sharpen the knife, the only difference is that you'll be doing so sooner than later.

how do you currently keep your knives sharp?

i wouldn't define a dull edge as a QC issue, after all the whole knife was built properly. to me, it's more of a fit and finish issue.

I can put one heck of an edge on a knife with my sharpmaker but if I want a killer edge I send them to Richard J! His paper wheel edge is like no other!! If someone is manufacturing knives that are hundreds of dollars they better have good QC and that knife should come razor sharp! Thats my opinion! When Spyderco can do it with a $100 knife or even less theres no excuse for these higher priced knives to be shipped dull!! The Lionspy seems basically like an SR-1 with a spydie hole rather than a thumbstud?

I think we will start to see what elmax really has with the hollow grind this knife will be sporting. As of right now I have only tried it on the 0551 and I really don't like the way it cuts but zt purposely has thick grinds for extra toughness
 
I guess the maker had run into some difficulties and the shipment was postponed for a month. Should be soon.

Now you can see why we don't like to give delivery dates.

I've seen on some websites they list it as a hollow grind but my sr1 is a high flat grind.wich one is it?
 
Hellz yes! I preordered 1 from GPknives like a week ago! Can't wait! I guess there's no way to find out in advanced when GP will have theirs is there?...... Oh well, thanks for the update Sal, been itching like a crackhead in county over here since I saw this beauty! Lolololoo XD
