Dang Jill, either you got tiny hands or that is a big knife! :D

I just received mine this week and I love it.

Ive had mine for a few months now and really am impressed with the quality of the knife.Love the tool steel blade.

I almost bought one when the fellow from Lion Steel was pre-sellng them, but it seemed like a lot of money to PayPal overseas in advance for a knife that didn't even exist yet.

It turns out that those early buyers got a heck of a bargain. Usually my overly cautious nature protects me, but I guess sometimes i t causes me to miss out on a deal.

How's the stain resistance of Sleipnir? I usually use my knives on the job, which involved trimming and cutting produce. Haven't had a problem with D2 yet, but M4 tends to build up a patina in a day.

I have a gold colored model on order from Lion Steel, but grew impatient for it to ship so I ordered a blue model from Knife Art. It just came in today and I have to say I'm very impressed. From my experience I'd say it's almost custom quality fit and finish. I'm extremely pleased. Looking forward for the gold one to come in whenever.

get one, you will be happy, very happy
get them from lion steel directly

Gianni wrote that a new batch will come for chirstmas, and a new version in Aluminium (one piece contrusction) with D2 will come out too

Indeed your hands are very small Jill:D.

My first thought upon holding the knife was a little bit of confusion and perhaps a hint of buyer's remorse as it did not utterly and obviously blow away my ZT 0301 in every way. But then after carrying it around for a bit and some light use, my second thought was that it was LIGHT. But perhaps that's a bit of exaggeration as it was not a feather. Though comparing it to my ZT 0301 that I EDC'd, I barely even noticed the thing clipped to my pocket. The other thing is that the full titanium handles are very gentle on your hands when you reach into your pocket for something else, very different from G10 and certain types of carbon fiber.

Sharpness is good enough to make clean cuts on a paper towel. The thing I noticed was that the grind is somewhat convex and the grind lines blend neatly with the lines on the blade. It takes a close look to spot the edge. Cutting is no more difficult than with my ZT 0301. One thing I know I'll regret is when the time comes to actually sharpen the blade, as I know the neat lines will be gone from the process.

Tension on the framelock is very high as opposed to the other titanium framelocks I've had(BM 635, Speedform, BM 755, ZT 0301), which makes one-handed closing a risky venture for ones fingers, but I suppose this makes regular lockup even more secure. Not that it needs to get any more secure with the Rotoblock locking the blade open.

The clip is great at keeping the knife out of sight, but as someone mentioned, the deep carry style makes it difficult to pull the knife out. The coating bothered me for a while, as I've never really had much experience with anodized titanium. My only experience with anodized aluminum was that it would easily wear down from simply carrying it without rubbing against anything other than the inside of my pants. So I was a bit concerned that rubbing against the carbon fiber of my Para2 would scuff it off, but the two knives seemed to have played well, as there isn't a single mark on the handles.

At first I questioned having spent nearly $400 on a single knife, but at the end of the day I don't regret it in the least:thumbup:.

great knife, but rather slippery. The grooving doesnt really aid in retention. I think a bigger clip could help, especially in retention when opening the blade.

this is one of those definitive knives.

the edge is convex form the 2nd batch

I asked for the first convex edged some time back and all knifes from that (2nd) batch on came convex, lol thing right?

I never handled an SR-1, but integral handles are great, and I wish more makers did it! does the SR-1 have a loud opening noise?

Sounds like a pretty solid "SNAP" to me. I agree one hand closing looks tricky at best. I still want one - a lot.

So YOU are the one who snatched it up!! I was eyeballing it and the bronze model. Had thought about ordering it, but said I was going to wait until the 30th to see if it was still there. I was sorta hoping that someone would buy them to keep me from doing so!!:D:D

If it's any excuse... Jill made me do it :D

When she mentioned that Knife Art had one, I figured that if I snoozed I'd lose, so I went for it. I know my bronze one will ship in December... but I have watched this knife since it's inception and I wanted to make sure I got at least one. I hope you get a chance to own one eventually.

I ordered some Tuf Glide and CRK Fluorinated Grease for my SR-1. Anyone know if using the Tuf Glide first on the pivot area and then the grease after is a good idea? A few of my knives tends to stain around the pivot area and I felt some Tuf Glide would help with that, but someone mentioned that it makes the opening and closing "sticky". But I was hoping that the grease would counteract that.

Should have known! They do look sweet, and I will be keeping my eye open for one. I guess knifeart will have some more later on and this time I will HOP ON IT!!:D

Enjoy.:D:D:D

Having carried it in my slacks(?) at work and jeans for when I'm just going out in the town, I can say that this knife is curiously non-obstructive for its size. The knife again, is light enough that I'm not constantly aware of its presence in my pocket(I sometimes feel the paranoid NEED to touch it through my pocket just to make sure its still there). And if I reach into my pocket for something, the smooth titanium handles gives very little resistance as your hand rubs up against it.

The little issue of drawing the knife is easily remedied with a paracord lanyard(Chris Reeve Knot with a lanyard knot at the end). The only remaining thing is to slather some Tuf Glide all over the blade.
