Lionsteel SR-1 folder..

I have used the Sleipner blade a lot since the first batch came out and have not had the first hint of discoloration much less actual rust. I have used it for various foods and have never lubed the blade or done any kind of rust prevention. I don't think you have anything to worry about even though it is classified as a tool steel. I would say it is at least as stain resistant as D2 is. I have had more rust with full stainless bead blasted blades than this one. I say use it for anything you want and if you are able to push it enough to get some discoloration then stop and you will know what it can take and won't be as worried to use it. Some Flitz or Mag wheel polish should bring it back to like new if you are able to get any discoloration.

I carry mine all the time and am very impressed. I added a small lanyard onto it (like many of my user folders) and it makes it easy to pull out of my pocket. You can just tuck the lanyard in your pocket if you want to be more discrete. I am used to a larger folder like my ZT300, so it doesn't bother me to EDC the LionSteel SR1.

:D

This is what I have done, also.

A very good carry folder, if you don't mind the size. I was 'turned on' to this by a fellow Forumite, Knife Hunter, at Blade 10. Quite happy with it.:D

Until the Busse Folder!!

I've orderd my SR1 08/Dec/2010

At this point delivery time on the lionsteel-page was end of december.
Now it's middle of march - apart from the delay: Can i assume, that it will be shipped at this date?

This knife was a total splurge for me, and I don't regret it at all; it's the nicest folder I own, and one of the nicest knives I've ever seen. I paid almost 400.00 for it, and it was worth it! I'm sure it will last a lifetime.

Well I finally paid for one. It should be here with the new batch that is due to be shipped to the US soon. I'm excited!

This quoted post was from 11-03-2010, 07:12 PM and I finally did it.

I'd love to have one and I eventually may but I also need to finally get a Sebenza too so it depends on which one is forefront when it's time. The SR-1 is definitely on my list!

We sent your knife 10 March 2011.
Please inform me if you did not received it.

Thank you Gianni, its already there ... and worth every euro/buck!
An unbelievable great knife

Yes, I would love a mini SR1!!! With the Ti handles. I would think a smaller version would make it easier to open, as the current model is a little awkward as the distance needed for the thumb to cover requires a grip change while opening. But, I couldn't care less, this knife is that good. I mean, what else out there really compares with this?

Congrats to those who got one and much hope to those who want one. This is a knife to be collected and used. I guess that means I need another one,... soon. It will be interesting to see if the Hest Folder causes this knife to slow in production. How many of these have been made?

Cheers,

Eric

RkyMnt, how do you have to change your grip to open the SR-1?

I am not sure I follow what you are saying about too long cover the distance. I can literally hold the knife in the middle of the handle and still open it one handed without problems and my hands aren't overly large.
