List every survival use a knife has

Jamming into a log for a step or handle, or a hook to hang something on. I have anchored my canoe this way.

When pushed through a plank, can be used as a splitter. When lashed 90 degrees to a stick, can be used as a froe.

Cut yourself free from something ie; rope, parachute harness, clothes-to get at wound. Cut someone elses clothes off. Notch wood for deadfall. Filet fish. Gut animal.

Don't see all that many froes (I assume that is the correct plural) these days - at least not around here. Suggest that the lashing and knife itself would need to be pretty strong to handle the loads when used as a froe.

pce

PS The knife can also be used to make a froe club!

A folding knife can be used as an improvised fish hook. I don't recommend it, but it's technically doable.

Amputations, when you're leg turns black and smells like shit  Hara kiri, when you've lost all hope for rescue or survival

..So far with the excepton of batoning I haven't seen too many things on this list that couldn't be done or at least improvised with a sak.

Good point, and one I was going to make until I read your post! Actually, any small knife could handle all those task.
