List of thin blade liner-lock/frame-lock folders (<0.12")

Kershaw Injection 3.5-- 3.39" blade, .091" thick, manual liner lock. 8Cr13Mov

Thank you, Yalius, for the info.
I didn't include it because the current Injection 3.5 is listed to have a 0.12" blade.
Is yours an older version?

Unsure, but that's the measurement I get with my caliper right at the base of the blade.

Yalius,

Do you think it is considerably thinner than Benchmade or Spyderco knives you own?
Since they typically use 0.12" blades, if your Injection appears thinner, your measurement is probably more accurate than the listed value.
Sorry to bother you.

This is the Stretch. The blade gets thinner all the way down to the tip.

skyhorse,

Thank you for your effot doing it!
According to Spyderco product pages, some Stretch variants are listed as 0.118" thick, and the others are with 0.125".
Looks like yours is the SB Stretch, which is one of those labeled as 0.118" thick.
Mine is one of the ZDP-189 versions, and it is about 0.123" thick.
I guess you got the thinnest Stretch:)

Great!
Much appreciated!

I apologize, but you're exactly right. I have no idea how I managed to get it so wrong. I keep a spreadsheet and I had the wrong info there. It's .121" stock and .115 at the start of the primary grind.

No problem.
I am sure that it is a good slicer.

Back again with another suggestion. The new Benchmade Amicus is 3.2" long, but is only 0.09" thick! Thinking about picking one up and deassisting it. Looks like a nearly full flat grind.

Wow.....
That is impressive.
And the blade is made of S90V!
Only if it is no sasisted......

Thank you for the suggestion.
I put it in the list.

My benchmade 812 mini afck has an M2 HSS blade. I've never seen one for sale.

Or buy a grinder.
Well since this thread is back to the front and since I like it / the thin knives so much I may as well put some photos up.
I finally got a Boker Urban Trapper (with no round holes for a change). Second from top. Soon to be rehandled.

And it doesn't belong on your nice list but one of my favorites (after I ground the crap out of it thinner) . . . the Cold Steel Ti Lite 4. For my use it is BRILLIANT, with a thin blade, for EDC. Bottom knife in this photo.
PS: it is a liner lock.

PPS: it isn't three inch or longer but that Gerber box knife in the first photo is a frame lock and . . .
wait for it . . .
the blade is 0.4 mm thick; less than 0.016 inch thick. (that's sixteen thousandths thick) sounds thin said that way doesn't it.

Thanks for sharing, Wowbagger. Your reground ColdSteel looks great. I wish I had that kind of skills.....
Regarding the box cutter, is it really a framelock? I cannot visualize how that operates......

This is really excellent thread, thank you! I cannot help but think that in the future we will look back on this era of ridiculously thick folders with a little bit of embarrassment.
