List Your "Top 3" Spydercos

If you're going to lump all the different Military variations into a single "Military" category, perhaps you should also lump the Sage 1 and Sage 2 into a single "Sage" category. The differences among the the two Sages mirror the differences amongst the different Military models--locking mechanism and handle material. It doesn't seem consistent to condense all the Military knives into a single category and not do the same for the Sage models.

Well the three I carry the most are:

1: Para-Military 2
2: FRN Stretch II ZDP-189
3: ZDP-189 Caly 3

Agreed, it will simplify the tally and make for a closer race. :D

1. Anything with Caly's design ( UKPK, DKPK, Urban, Caly's and such while different models shape and ergnomics are great and similar. Orange UKPK is my most carried modern folder)
2. Delica 4's. Regular or FFG. Excellent work horse.
3. Millie. I own Orange G10 Millie. I haven't used it much yet but its... impressive in every possible way.

1: Sage 1

2: Caly 3

3: Para 2

Cant wait for the Sage 3, that appears like it might take my #1 spot... We'll see.

All votes added! Keep 'em coming..

I'm trying to keep this simple, and combine votes for the same model instead of making a separate entry for each variation. The one rule I am following in regards to models is if the vote is for the next "generation" (a version number as part of the name), it will be included as a separate vote. There is not a "next generation" for the Military yet (although many variations of the 1st generation), so the votes are combined.

Here are examples of some models that have a "next generation" of the knife, and therefore each generation is listed separately:

  • Para Military, Para Military 2
  • Stretch, Stretch 2
  • Sage 1, Sage 2
  • Manix, Manix 2
  • etc, etc, etc.

Yes, this can become very complex and everyone will have his/her own take on the fairest approach, but please bear with me as I try and take a fair, but somewhat simple and easy to maintain approach to this. In the end, it will have some value if nothing more than an interesting compilation of highly endorsed Spydercos by the BladeForums community.

1. Centofante 3
2. Stretch 2 (I have the FRN/ZDP-189 version, but any work.)
3. Lum Chinese

Man, picking out just 3 is hard.

1. Caly 3, G-10. This knife is an over-achiever.

2. Paramilitary DigiCamo. I'm getting used to the tip down.

3. Delica 4 FFG. (Stretch and Native got left out)
