Interesting to see 'The Princess Bride' up there. It's definately one of my favourites, but not quite in my top three at the moment.
I'm a movie nut as well as a knife knut. I've never counted my DVD's, but I've got a lot and I've got over 3.5TB (that's 3500 gigabytes) of movies on my AV server. Most of that is High Def stuff though that runs at up to 30GB per movie.
Top three? Hmm... Varies according to my mood and the weather but at the moment:
King Arthur (the recent 2004 one)
Aliens (Director's cut)
Legend (the Tom Cruise one, Director's cut with Gerry Goldsmith soundtrack. Completely different to the other version)
It's really not easy choosing three. Other real fave's, ones that keep me riveted no matter that I've seen them twenty times, include:
Ladyhawke
Ronin
Shooter
Blade Runner (Ultimate Cut)
The Thing
The Fog
The Stand
Hidden
The Princess Bride
Dog Soldiers
Star Wars (all)
Star Trek First Contact
Lord of the Rings (all)
Tremors
Dark Star
Armageddon
Blackhawk Down
Conan The Barbarian
The Good The Bad and the Ugly
I'll happily watch a movie I like over and over, and really get into the 'feel' of it. Unfortunately, my wife really hates that. Fortunately, I have a nice LCD TV in my 'man' room!
