Spent a couple of hours down at the Stones River today. Caught my limit (7), but when I pulled up the stringer to put my last fish on, two were missing!

And they were two of the larger fish.

I have no idea what happened.

I swear I wasn't even drinking.

Anyway, the remaining five will be tasty tomorrow when lightly battered and pan-fried.

Nice catch it sure looks tasty:thumbup: and awesome pics:thumbup: Thnx for sharing!

Actually, I think I figured it out after I cleaned the fish. I was using one of the metal/chain clasp stringers. Though it's a brand new stringer, I found upon inspection that some of the metal clasps don't snap in tightly unless you give them a little tug. I must've thought they were snapped when they really weren't. Crap. I have another metal one that has never failed me, but I grabbed this new one for some reason. Live and learn.

Those look quite tasty.....

Let's see..... how far is it from from here to Over Yonder.....

PM sent for directions..... road trip tomorrow..... :D

Those are rainbows. TWRA stocks them in these parts in the winter months. You want to catch a native trout, you got to go east and up. Or way west.

Love that filet knife - I simply have to get one of those.......

But right now our water is a little too thick to get a brownie or a rainbow..... but the Beer Bass are always active!!

We also need pics of your tackle. :D

Never. But I will say this. I was the only person using said tackle, and I was the only one who limited out.

Of course, I was probably the only person who lost two landed fish, so you see, it all evens out.

At least tell us whether you used bait or fly casting. :D

Nice catch of trout! Reminded me that our winter trout season started here in Minnesota today. Too darn cold up here to go out though. Had 18 below this morning when I let the dogs out. A friend had talked about going out but he figured it was too cold too. It's not bad once I get my portable set up and the Mr. Heater going, then you can sit in shirtsleeves and the hole won't even ice over! Seeing those gives me the bug tho. Ely and Burntside are only 45-50 miles from here so maybe............
