That's for my wife. I like 'em on the bone myself.

My wife is Japanese and she eats the bones....but wants the heads off before they are served....Always something!

Nice catch Guyon!!

I'm sure those 2 biggies really got away. Really they did. ;) :D :D

Overall... well done buddy!

Nice catch of trout! Reminded me that our winter trout season started here in Minnesota today. Too darn cold up here to go out though. Had 18 below this morning when I let the dogs out. A friend had talked about going out but he figured it was too cold too. It's not bad once I get my portable set up and the Mr. Heater going, then you can sit in shirtsleeves and the hole won't even ice over! Seeing those gives me the bug tho. Ely and Burntside are only 45-50 miles from here so maybe............

Wooo Boy - are you in Finn Country or what? :D

Lots of people with names that have double letters like a's and k's  ;)

my father-in-law is Filipino, he eats boiled fish heads for breakfast, says the eyes are the best. :barf:

My wife is Japanese and she eats the bones....but wants the heads off before they are served....Always something!

Rainbows were a staple in my diet as a youngster, and those beauties make me hungry while missing my G.Pa who taught me to fish. Sweet catch:thumbup: and Thank You for sharing the pics.

TurnerIII......Yah sure youbetcha! I am on the Iron Range. I live in Hoyt Lakes. I'm a Suomalainen Poikka too! (thats Finnish boy for the non Finns). Where are you in Minn.?

Part II. RETURN OF THE RAINBOWS.

Man what a tasty lookin' plate of fish. What'd you use to bread 'em? By the way, what was your filet technique? We never filet them 'cause it's too hard to remove the bones. Just cook 'em and eat/pick around the bones.

Just breaded 'em with some flour that had a little lemon pepper mixed in.

Fillet technique? 'Bout the same as you fillet any fish. Start at the tail, ease the knife up alongside the backbone till you get to the head. Quick slice behind the gill removes the fillet. Then I usually just take out the rib cage with a quick swipe. Then one more pass fillets all the meat off the skin/scales.

The bigger the fish, the easier it is... until you get to really big fish with big ribs. With fish like these, I break out the electric fillet knife or my serrated Dexter Russell. Easier to cut through big scales and bones.

Last time I went trout fishing in the mountains, all we caught were red-eye bass. Guy showed me a cool way to skin those on the bone so that you get all the meat.
