Today I received my birch burl slabbed integral. The blade is 0-1, flat ground, 4 1/4" long. The knife is 8 1/2" overall.
When I first wanted a knife I contacted Ron and gave him my ideas. He did a drawing and emailed it to me, for me to make changes, if I wanted.
I didn't make any changes.
The knife arrived today and it is superb. Excellent workmanship on the knife and the sheath as well.
I highly recommend dealing with Ron if you are in the market for a custom made knife. He is friendly, open to suggestions and prompt. For our USA friends, your dollar goes along way in Canada.
You can see a picture of the knife on "The Gallery" page.

I'll second that motion! Ron has made 2 knives for me with 2 more in the works. Ron is very friendly to work with - he checked my drawing & came up with some really great refinements & ideas. Ron kept in touch with e-mail while the knives were being crafted and we even spoke on the phone a few times about the projects. His excellent craftsmanship, friendly manner & enthusiasm is what brought me back time & time again! My 3rd knife Ron's working on, we named 'Leuschen's Toothpick'. I am excited about this one and Ron is 10X more excited - it's catchy! Hopefully, my 4th knife from Ron will be one of his 'Survival Series' knives which I believe are in the planning stage. Enjoy your birch burl integral - he makes some beauts!
