MarriedtheMedic and I got a chance to make it to one of our favorite spots to bum around today. DeSoto Falls and Little River Canyon area in DeKalb County. Little River also has a Wildlife Management area where deer are abundant to hunt1 Beautiful bluffs with rich history, it's the foothills of the Appalachians!

From there, we headed on over to Little River Canyon. The Falls here are downstream from Desoto. It was flowing real good today!

No real long term usage yet, but I really like it so far!

Thanks Padruig, we were just glad we had some time to zoot on over to the next county for a dayhike!

Looked like an awesome day 91. Beautiful location. Thanks for taken us along. Gotta love that Katadyn. Why carry the weight when you can pump it:thumbsup:

Which sak is that?

That is my Farmer!

The weather was perfect and awesome day indeed! Our Katadyn is one of the most used piece of outdoor gear that we own. We usually each carry a nalgene and we have a folding 1 gallon bladder for base camp.

Thats awesome I run a bladder in my sitka sling bag along with my kat. Most of my space is used up with one of my wifes lenses. Which weighs more then the bladder lol Great shot of your new 12 in action:thumbsup::thumbsup:

My wife carries an extra long lens too in case she wants to capture something far away.

Water levels looked great on the Little River. Last year it was almost dry. Great pictures and thanks for sharing your day. May have to run down there. Been a while.

What part of the river were you spending time along it? Near the park?

DeSoto Falls is most difficult to take pictures looking up stream from an access point of view.

Yeah, I remember last year, everything was dried up, Lake purdy, Little River, even at Cheaha. It's not so this year! We were a few hundred yards downstream of the falls.

Oh no you didn't

Ha ha! We split everything up. She can handle a 35 lb. pack for 10 miles, so she can hump it pretty well!

Nice, especially in that terrain impressive.

I get a bit nervous at the overlook above DeSoto Falls. One slip.... and dead. Last time I slipped and someone grabbed me to steady me.... I was thankful.
