Little River Canyon, Alabama

Small world 91 bravo i too just went to the canyon and desoto falls about a month ago. Beautiful area, we stayed in the desoto state park campground. I love the little river falls trail to the martha falls trail. It is a great leisurely hike.

Me and the misses spent about an hour at marthas falls picking up garbage. It is so beautiful ill never understand why people think its ok to leave their trash. The kicker is the park services provides bags for you to pack it out with you right there at the falls. But what a great place and i thought the mushroom rock was the colest thing ever.

Ps. How do you get to the lower sode of desoto falls? I wanted to see it from below but didn't know.

You gotta jump! Honestly, I don't know how those folks are getting down there. I'm sure some locals would know the way down. Little River Canyon is a beautiful area for sure! Did you take the scenic rim drive to the bottom of the mountain?

No we took the right back towards town to eat we are planning on going back we both loved it.

Next time you have to take the canyon drive down to the Little River campsite. It's a GORGEOUS drive with so many overlooks of the gorge!

Yes it is a beautiful area i kinda wanted to see it in winter too. I thought it would be a great river to fish but the video at the welcome center made it sound as if itdidnt have much more than brim.

You wanna catch some fish? You can drive across the valley to Sand Mountain and catch em down at Buck's Pocket. When the Dogwoods start to bloom in the Spring, you can go down to Buck's Pocket and catch literally hundreds of hybrids, when they are upstream to spawn. We try to go every year and the standing record so far between my wife, friends and I, is 30 consecutive casts with 30 fish!
