Little Rock - Let's see what you're bringing!

Sounds like it was a great time and a great show. Thanks for the update Seth. I'm looking forward to attending Blade Show this year.

The following pictures were of Sunday. I didn't get to take a picture of everyone, but here was what I did get!

The Little Rock Show was just like I expected……ho hum FANTASTIC!!!! It just keeps getting better each year. This show is second only to the Blade show, and it's a very close second. If size matters, then that's the tie breaker. Every good thing everyone ahead of me posted goes for me too….double.

It is always good to reconnect with old friends and a genuine pleasure to make new ones. (By the way Seth is right. I do like him, but don't tell him)

Until Blade

Paul

Here are some that Ryan Hayes took! He said he wouldn't have a chance to show them to you guys for another week, so I said I would post some of them up. He did a lot better job than me. I know Caleb took a lot better pictures of the show than me as well. Hopefully he will treat you guys to them soon. :)

And these are from promoting the AKA show. Since it is a little hard to take a picture of myself, I figured I would throw these on here.

aaaand that will be the last of my photo bombs. lol.

Totally a wonderful show. So good to hear all the positive comments, signs of accomplishment for the show organizers. Next year's show plans to grow, so mark your calendars!

Logan, thanks for all the wonderful photos. Seth, great write up. A real pleasure meeting and hanging with you some during the weekend. You are a great addition to the custom knife world, and are already becoming an encyclopedia on makers and knives. Okay, a small encyclopedia, but I am totally impressed with your early knowledge and passion. We need more young blood like you.

Chris, a pleasure seeing you again and meeting your son. So glad to see you exposing him to shows and the awesome people involved at a young age. I wouldn't be surprised seeing his own first handmade knife on his belt at a show down the road.

Enjoyed seeing all the friends and wonderful knives this weekend. I had a camera on me, and only took this photo.

Seth and I heard Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken had a daily special, and we had to try it out.

You know you have attended a great show when you intend to take some photos while there, and think of it on the way home.

I want to express our appreciation to all of you who attended and who made the show a success this year.

I was so busy that I am not over it yet. I snapped a few pics here and there.

Here is a shot of the crowd on Saturday afternoon.

There was a lot of enthusiasm for the Antique Bowie Exhibit at the Historic Arkansas Museum.

Thanks to my peers for their vote on this knife for best Bowie. There was some great work on the tables and it gets better every year. It was very rewarding. Again, thank you.

I want to thank all of the new table holders this year as well as the Knifemakers Guild members who made the Arkansas show their home for the weekend. Of note in that regard is Gene Baskett and Gayle Bradley.

I wanted to say thanks also to all involved in putting on the show, Sandi and I really enjoyed it. I got to meet a lot of people and enjoyed seeing old friends. Seth it was good to see you again and I enjoyed your show report. Shows are about so much more than just buying and selling knives. I hope everyone had a great time.

Really a great show! Paul, I think for size the tie should go to Little Rock, for the more relaxed and intimate atmosphere. You didn't have to run around to "get there first" like you find yourself doing at BLADE. The banquet on Friday night was tons of fun, with tables and tables of magnificent knives. Mike Quesenberry picked up one of Ben Seward's fighters, and it felt so good he wanted to go Viking and just start hacking something! (I felt the same thing when handling it.) We had a good laugh at our table when Kyle Royer started clapping really loud for an award winner . . . and nobody else joined in! I think everyone in the room was looking at him. :p

Chris Montgomery was dead on about the quality of Bobby Toole's knives, as one of his Gent model slipjoints was my "booty" from the show. With the ATS-34 blade and mammoth covers, along with Bobby's terrific F&F and W&T, I just couldn't pass this one up. Enjoy the pics.

I was able to talk blade shapes with J.R. Cook, handle techniques with Mike Quesenberry, steel and keyhole handles with David Lisch (I'm a dead man if the secrets get out! ;)) and see more world class knives than I ever remember doing before. Les Robertson held court at Mike's table on Sunday for a good hour, and we had a great discussion about custom knives and knifemaking. Dinner Saturday night with Dave L. and his cousins, Mike Q., Bill F., Seth (Bladeplay74) and the great beer at Flying Saucer was very memorable.

This show comes with the highest recommendation I can give. Anyone considering this for next year should just book it now. You will love it.

Seth, that is one cool piece! Glad you picked that up at the show. Paul's clothes have added even more coolness to it. Paul probably started working on that once he and John got in the vehicle to head home Sunday. At least by the time they entered Texas. :)

Another great Arkansas show. Saturday was the busiest I have seen a show in a long time. And to have the fantastic bowie exhibit in conjunction was a true bonus. A very big thank you to David, Lin, Chuck, and the AKA for all their work in making this show what it is.

I would also like to thank Mark for letting me put two great old bowies under close scrutiny.

Definitely, if you did not make this year plan for 2015.

Brion

That does it I have got to make another push dagger for myself, very nice Paul, thanks again Seth

Thanks for all the awesome show reports and pictures! I had a wonderful time hanging out and talking to so many collectors and knifemakers alike. Little Rock is such a fun show where we can all get together and enjoy one another's company. Thanks everyone for making this year so special and enjoyable over the past weekend. I'll be back next year for sure to hang out again. Next show, BLADE....... Back to the forge. :D
