Little Rock Show Winners

Congrats again to all. John's ladder damscus piece and Bill's fighter are two I would have been happy to snap up had I been there.

Ron had a bowie with handle treatment similar to that (but without the damascus/pearl inlay) at the first Little Rock show I attended several years ago and it blew me away then. This one is a couple levels beyond. Wow!

Thanks for the complements everyone!

And thanks to Chuck Ward for the pictures!

What a difference the photo makes on that giraffe bone handled knife. I like it much better after seeing Chuck's photo.

I agree Keith. It's a beautiful knife which also shows how good giraffe bone can look and how much it can look like mammoth ivory.

In addition, these photos lend support to Coop's claim that "good photos don't cost, they pay".

Wow - I'm digging that Fluornoy - a bit of a departure for him style-wise, but super sweet.

Wow All top notch knives. And how cool is that to have an award for best G bone. Did I miss something is G bone making a come back. I love the stuff. congrats to all winners. It looks to have been a good show.

Congratulations to all the winners. I really appreciate the large pictures, some spectacular knives.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments, it was sure a great show and a lot of fun meeting many makers I had only read about.
Thank you John for posting the bigger photo from Chuck. You do beautiful work and I sure enjoyed the chance to see some of it close up.

The award is given by a business that sells giraffe bone.

Congratulations to all the winners! It was a great show, fun time and lots of outstanding knives. Here's a pic I snapped of (L to R) Jeff Royer (Kyle's dad), Kyle and John White. Feel free to make up your own caption! ;)

Hi STeven,

Thanks for pointing that out about the G-Bone Award. They have been giving that award for several years now.

I was stunned when Bill Buxton didn't win! :D

Bill, I stopped by your table several times...you were never there??

"If you throw it just right, it will actually come back to you. Here, John, I'll throw it and you catch it."

Lorien, the caption fits the picture great!

And here are three serious pictures.

A very impressive grouping of knives.

I have always been a bit conflicted about some of Bill Buxton's designs, but that fighter is flat out great! Royer's feather pattern damascus is sweet and John White's ladder pattern may be, the best I have seen.

I would really like to see the Newton up close.

Shoot Les, I figured you were mad at me or something because I was at my table almost all day Saturday and you walked by several times and never said a word. Sunday, I did spend some time away but I wanted to see Kyles, Johns and several other makers work up close plus I wanted to talk with Ron Newton, but my wife was there if I wasn't. Sorry I missed you..
