Little Social Distancing Fishing.

I got an idea now after watching that guy chopping on them things- holy cow! I knew they were a prehistoric fish with armor but damn! They sure make a lot of meat though. That is a call for a sharp Busse if I've ever seen it!

A close up of teeth.

Jerry, Thanks for the words, between these lasting memories and your everlasting Blades Lex is sure to be a future Piglet!

Tried our luck today, maybe cool front had them hiding deep. Only thing we caught was a wee little garter snake attempting to eat a frog 10x it’s size.

That fella is the Fabio of the Bayou. He’s pretty famous for catching gar. I should build a dedicated gar cleaning station.... but yeah, you need tools to do it.

Thanks for starting this, Gravelface!

Thanks for sending that video, TFHT.

That dude is straight holding court on the bayou on his dock that is covered by water at high tide (or always) with what looks to be a big road sign for part of the floor/patching!!! So many ins and outs and nuances to pick out of everything he is saying and the actions and responses of the other two. The helper, son or not, just does his job quietly, lest he become the focus of attention for the one-sided dialogue, and Cajun Fabio starts telling him he is moving too slow or wasting meat!!!

He looks pretty deep off in it, too. I would not want to be on the wrong end of that guy's knife, either (big or small knife).

So much captured in that video, I could spend an hour breaking it down!!!

Ricky Verret, yeah it’s almost as bad as Coach O talking to the coach from Waterboy.....

Thanks for sharing...seems like a really good dude...I thought the lady in the original video looked like a scientist/biologist (don't know if she actually is), although that was my first thought...the way she was dressed seemed to point in that direction...

I wonder if I can get Ms Luster to somehow cure/tan the skin/scales for a pair of boots?!?

Here I go digressing!!!

I think the SHBM would be my swamp knife as well, or possibly a ZTBM...

That’s my first Battle Mistress, I let it go and it came back to me so it’s meant to be. And yes, It’s an excellent choice when wondering around the swamp!

A couple past pictures, poking through the photo album.
here’s a little turtle he pulled up last year. Delicious! A little Turtle Sauce Piquante....And like everything here, fried up some.

couple bullfrogs crossed our path while fishing, got to make the best of any situation....

A little gator was taking a scenic route through a residential neighborhood. My buddy wanted to get in on the picture “on the non dangerous end”

And decent sized moccasin terrorizing a business. It was just sitting at the front door and the ladies inside were petrified. Yes, that’s my SHBA I carry everyday at work displaying those fangs.

Those frog legs are making my mouth water! Never saw a moccasin milked by a badger before.:D:thumbsup:

Great thread! Thanks Jason!
There was this place in Saint Francisville, LA that had the best frog legs...i would make myself sick eating so many of them as a kid. Frog legs and french fries!!!

Within the last six months, I rescued an alligator snapping turtle from the road...adolescent (16-18" shell longways), although big enough to be heavy and strong as hell, and he had a long ass neck (as they all do!)...got to hold on tight to those suckers and get em in the right spot or you'll lose a digit or a good bit of one!!! Amazing creatures. Not to be trifled with lightly.
