Liu Kang is back and spamming.

Thank's to the mod's here for actually shutting a guy down. Our little pond of knife lover's don't need anyone peeing in our pool.

Not sure 100% what you consider SPAM, but he sent a email(on 9-17-11) to me stating he was going to be at the Easton, PA show and to come and see him there. It looks like it was a mass email to many people. Not sure if you consider that SPAM or not, just my 2 cents.
 
Mass emails are spam. Especially if he's emailing people who never bought from him. I would hit my spam button, which would permanently ban him from getting through to me.
 
Can someone please let me know what happened? I did not spam anyone, nor have I ever gone by the handle "Liu Kang". I did post on that thread calling second on a knife sale, but I had no further communication with anyone after that. I think there's been a misunderstanding. I was banned with no reason given and it seems i've only recently been re-enabled. If there is spam coming from my account, please let me know, or show me some example. Perhaps i should update my password, but I'm not sure if the spam that points to me is coming from my account, or the email address tied to my account.

Can someone please help me out here? I'll take whatever actions are necessary to ensure no further spam comes from me.

It sounds like there was a brief misunderstanding in which a moderator thought that the reason the thread starter linked to your profile was because he thought it was a duplicate account through which (former) member Liu Kang was spamming members with links to his sales threads on other forums. Of course, the real reason there's a link to your profile in the original post of this thread is because you were a target of Liu Kang's spam, not the person doing the spamming.

Bottom line is that you didn't do anything wrong, and there's nothing you need to do differently. As you said, it was just a misunderstanding, and one that the moderators corrected as soon as they realized what had happened.

I realize that, as someone who only joined last month, this whole experience probably wasn't the most auspicious welcome to BladeForums that you could have imagined. But we hope you'll stick around, and welcome to the forums. :)

Kylesa, it was a "typo". The moderator who meant to ban Liu Kang accidentally clicked on your name instead. He immediately reversed it, but the software didn't reflect the reversal until later. Your title is now "Registered User" again, not "banned". At no time were you ever really in trouble.

We are really sorry when we mess up like this, it happens, keyboards outrunning tired minds! :eek:
 
Haha..thanks guys for clearing that up for me. I feel better now. And yes, i am quite new to Bladeforums, but its been a great stay so far, and I don't plan on going anywhere. Thanks again for the clarification...I probably should have just messaged the mod directly, but I was still afraid I was being blamed for something :)

i've been here for awhile and Liu Kang was one dude who rubbed me the wrong way. BF is better without his kind. good job mods.
 
I'll tell you, the place just feels better all around now with that douche-nozzle gone :o) A weight has been lifted.

Thank you Esav. Kylesa, please accept my sincere apologies. When I finally saw enough of the messages he was sending, I was on your profile page rather than his and did not notice for a few minutes. Great to have you with us again!
