Well some of those that went to Blade 2011 were lucky even to handle this. I love the balance and weight. It just feels so good in the hand. The handle isn't too thick so one can change grips on this knife fast and securely.
This is a Meaner Street S.L.U.T. with the .22" Deep Hollow Grind, hollowed out handle with custom handle and Mosaic Pins. After talking to some HOGs and asking what they were carrying, I think the Meaner Street is the most carried Busse ever...

And of course you say that it can't be an EDC if you don't have a sheath to carry it so I asked Dwayne Puckett from Armoralleather to custom make me something to match my knife so that I could carry it. Of all the exotic material he had, I chose this cream colored lizard skin so that it would match the handle of my Busse. I really do love the knife and sheath. So thanks to all that made this possible, especially the Busse Custom Shop!

That sheath is amazing and has a great weastern flair to it also the meaner street matches it perfectly.

Thanks everyone for the kind words on my leather work! Thanks to Dan for letting me handle that wonderful knife, it truly is unique.

Thank you! :) It is kind of westerny huh? I antiqued the lizard skin to show off the scales better and it turned out better than I had imagined it would.

Nice rig, Does that mean you don't need this one anymore?

Nice to hear that you finally made up your mind on an EDC.
Hopefully we'll see lots of gratuitous knife pics again when you change your mind. ;)

Great looking knives, LK, Max (& a gorgeous sheath) & squish! .22 is perfect for me.

Squishware, is yours .22 as well? I really like the swedge - that is a beauty!

Well, from my first search for an EDC, I found out that you can't have a double edge to carry so that one would be out, so that sits at home...

Well done, Dan. Do you carry it vertically or horizontally?

I wear it vertical because I have a thicker belt and it's made for a thinner belt if I wanted to carry it horizontally. Looking back at the whole thing, if I was to have the sheath made, I think it would be a wise choice to have it made in a lefty for the way I would like to draw it out of the sheath.

Wow, Dan! That is one sexy outfit!

Yep, I think the Mean Streets are great for EDC...even my old school SHMS! ;)

And Dwayne's leatherwork never fails to please...just beautiful!

Yeah, I'd be all over a Busse for an EDC if it wasn't for the fact that I live in Los Angeles County and it's backwards from carry laws in the rest of California. I just don't like having to think about switching up carry options for whatever locations I'm at.

Folders are pretty much the same most anywhere in the PRK.

Dan,

That knife is nice but the leatherwork is truly amazing. I don't think it could have been matched any better.

A thought on 'Bark' ivories...I was under the impression that bark ivory is from the surface of the ivory. Exhibiting the character/worn marks on the surface from the animals usage of its tusks.

This is what I think of when I think Elephant bark ivory

This is what I think of when I think Mammoth bark ivory

From my understandings, with mammoth bark ivory like I pictured above, the coloration comes from mineralization. This was from the siberian permafrost and is not stabilized.

I love the handles on your EDC, I am just curious as to the smooth 'bark'

Thanks for any thoughts or info.

All of my info came from an Ivory 'expert'...

That's a beauty. The Meaner is on my short list of Busses to get, as soon as I finish paying for all of the pre-orders I made at Blade...

That's pretty much true except that mammoth ivory are found all over the world. The ones with the blue and green colors are the most desirable. But the colors are not put in there, it's in there from nature. Some are from the bottom of the seas, some from China, Alaska, Russia, etc... so there are all different colors. The smooth part may because if you sand it down some, you may lose some color or pattern. It's a natural material so you can't control it.
