Well, it seem everyone here think you can only use knives for food and chop wood. Try to think outside the box, food is not all that important to me. I chose this particular knife to carry on me for self defense.
This knife is a SLUT, and I guess for those of you that don't have one, you just won't understand unless you hold one. These made lighter and with a hollow grind for a different reason for me. It's like the knife and my hand is one... IMHO, you just don't split wood with a hollow grind but if you buy a knife, you can do whatever you want. So for those that have held this at Blade 2011, you know what I'm talking about. I picked this knife for the weight, balance and the way it can be held in my hands to do what I need it to. This knife is not for splitting wood or cutting food, I have other knives for that. One can't compare this to a military over run meaner, they are not even close to being the same. And usually where I go to eat, there are eating utensils for that.
For those that have a carrier's permit, you know what I'm talking about. It's better to have it and never use it, then need it and not have it. So in my case, no, I hope I never have to use it.
