Live from Montana Knifemakers show

Hey Murry, There's one picture you forgot and thats yours. I kinda of remember seeing you but my trip home erased a good deal of my memory. Hopefully this thread will bring a few more people threw the doors. I did enjoy the show and its always fun meeting new people. Joe, I could have sold your ax several times and should have sold it to a fellow from France but ended up taking an order from him instead.

My trip home was an experience to say the least. 93 headed south from Missoula would have been more enjoyable if it wasn't so thick with smoke for about the first 100 miles. From Salmon on the sky's were bright blue and the terrain was really spectacular. Spent the night at Stanley Lake and about froze to death. Had no idea it was at 7200 feet. I got a few pictures along the way. I'll post some if they turned out.

Dang Ray, if you'd have gotten enough, I'd have commissioned another one!!! LOL!!!! :D

Glad you had a safe, if invigorating, trip home! See ya in Portland!

Joe, Once I unload my truck I'll find out if your ax made the trip.

All these pictures were taken in Idaho after most the smoke had lifted. I believe there were at least 4 different fires going on at the sametime. Anyone from Clayton? A picture of the Salmon River, 93 ran along side it for quite aways. A few pictures of the Saw Tooth Mountains and a couple of Lake Stanley with the Saw Tooth's in the back ground.

Were the Montana Mafia there? Dunkerly, Gallagher, Colter, Taylor.

Great pics Ray, that is beautiful country out there.

Thanks again for the pics and report, Murray.

Yes, I was looking for some of the mafia members knives. Isn't wee Josh Smith part of that mafia? Were any of them there? I've seen some of Shane taylor's work and really liked it.

"Wee" Josh Smith?

That is funny.....last time Josh was "wee".....he was 8.:D

He does have a baby face, though, even with the growth of blond fuzz on it.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

I talked to Josh the other day he had a wedding to go to but he did make it up to the show for a short time to look around.

I know "wee" Josh reads these forums, and thought y'all would appreciate the humor about the little lad that the montana mafia took under their wing. He may have that baby face that was mentioned, but the boy has stepped up to the plate and produced some world class knives; and recently, a very pretty T backed scimitar that would make many here drool. But he's pretty modest about what he has done at such a young age.

Anyway, were any of the mafia displaying at the show? Has Taylor come up with anything as spectactular as his "darkness rising" stuff? I have only seen a little of Wade Coulter's knives, but it was impressive.

Beautiful country - thanks for those pics, Ray.

"Population 26." Gotta love it.

Roger

Were Bob & Josh Jolley of RJ Customs at the Montana Show? They make some pretty cool Bowies & Fighters.
Thanks,
Buddy S.:cool::thumbup:

Josh did a "Walk through" but didnt have a table this year. The rest of the Montana Mafia didnt show up as far I know.
