Livesay Titanium Tiger???

Chiro75 - I just ordered one three days ago. When I receive it, I'll let you know. I figured for $22, you can't go wrong. I have three other Livesay knives and likem a lot.
 
Think I'll hold out for a titanium Emerson Le Griffe, for 300 USD. Yea right!

Let you know when I get my ti tiger.
 
Waitaminute...Livesay's making a Titanium knife? For $22? Are you kidding me? Some questions, though: How big is the blade? Is it a neck knife, or one of those larger models like the Air Assault? What kind of sheath does it come w/? And where can I find a picture of it? For $22, you're damn right you can't go wrong! So now that you've got me interested, let me know where I can get one and how long it'd take!

The Titanium Tiger is overproduction from a contract for these knives. They feature Newt's modified tanto grind, making it look, to me at least, like a Ti version of the G-45 or whatever that knife is. Kydex sheath, of course. It is one piece Ti with cord wrapped handle option. Blade is 2" and OAL is almost 6". Total package weighs like 3 oz. When Newt emailed me yesterday he had 22 or so left, so get on it, boy!

Thanks, Chiro. I left a message for him to phone or e-mail me. About how long does it take to geta response? I looked at the knife and it looks sweet! Will he do slight mods on the knife (like the wrap, sheath, etc.) or are they outta the box? Also, the pics showed the Ti kinda corroded-looking. Is that what one of mine will look like if I order one (actually, two)? See, now you got me all excited!
 
I got a same day response. I imagine knife will look better than the example. I ordered it with paracord arpped handle for same price, and sheath and neck paracord come standard. 2 oz for the whole thing! I'll review when i get it!

Chiro, what e-mail address did you use? I used the Livesay.com one and haven't gotten a reply yet. Maybe I'm just too impatient, but then again, when there's only 22 left...Looking forward to your review.
 
Thrawn the email address I used was Newt@Livesay.com and I got a response. It took a couple hours but I got one. Make the Number left 21 I ordered one.

I just ordered two Ti Tigers (y'know, just in case I lose one or for some horrible reason, I get it confiscated) and an NRG just for the hell of it, b/c so many of you guys were ranting about it in another thread. I did get a response, and, just like you said, it took a couple of hours, but I did get a response. Seems that he'll be sending me the knives on Monday via UPS. I also asked him to chamfer the spine and handle b/c my G-45 digs into my hand, and I didn't want that to happen w/ my Ti's. I've never dealt w/ the guy directly until now, but you all are right, his service is great! He said that there are less than thirty left of the 200 that they started out on MONDAY! Get while they're hot!
 
I'd swap the generic paracord for something a little cooler, but not bad for only $22! But, what is it after s&h?

BTW: I'm not sure what the fit and finish of the titan tiger is, so could one of you guys order two, let me know if they are ok, and then I'll buy one of them from you for $30?

Actually, the OAL is 5 3/4" and is reportedly pretty thin. I think it'll be something like 27 or 28 bucks after S&H is calculated. Truth to tell, I'd like him to drill a medium sized hole in the end of the handle so I can wrap the handle myself. I use the hole to secure the wrap b/c I'm not too comfortable w/ using epoxy to tie the cord down. Anyway, I also asked if there was any way he could make the sheath capable of SOB carry. Who knows if he can, but it really doesn't matter, I'm happy enough getting a Ti knife for less than $100! Hey Stompy, I wish I ordered three, so if I liked them, I could sell you one! Hey, I think I'll write him back and ask if he can put serrations on one of them for me.

Chiro, were you going to anodize it yourself? What color? Oh yeah, I Newt just wrote back and said he'd put 1" of serrations on it for me and still ship on Monday. What a great guy! So now I've got a plain edge and a partially serrated in the mail! Yay!

Got some new info for you guys. The corroded looking finish is actually a coloration resulting from the heat treat. So when you get your knife, it'll look like that. Newt said you could rub it off w/ steel wool or glass/sand bead blast it off. Some even have contract numbers still under the treat.
