Loaner Knives-Thoughts and Horror Stories?

I got an old 91mm SAK as a loaner - they know it's a slipjoint, I won't cry when it breaks and if they hurt themselves it's on them.

Other than that, I only loan what I can afford to loose. (So almost nothing)

One time at work, a coworker grabbed a knife off my desk, asked if she could borrow it.
And before I could say anything, she opened it up, ran her thumb over the blade and sliced her finger open.

She was really embarrassed and apologized to me for cutting her finger, the blood on the blade cleaned right up .:)

I am okay loaning knives under very certain circumstances. The other day, for example, I was working in a barn in a group of people and we were all laying shavings down for some cattle. I loaned out my Spyderco to a few people, because I knew all we were doing was opening bags of shavings. Usually though, I will just offer to cut whatever people need. I also carry an SAK every day, so I can lend that if I need to.
