Anyone know of brick & mortar knife stores within, say, a 3 hour radius of Dayton, OH? I'm not looking for a gun store that has a carousel of knives, but a primarily, knife store with a good selection that would warrant a 6 hour round trip drive (for a knife nut.) I got spoiled living in east TN, having SMKW an hour away, though they didn't start carrying a decent selection of higher end knives until around the time I moved.

Thanks, they look awesome! Just finished checking out their website, hope to God their website is not very up to date, as everything good seemed to say sold out! I'm gonna head that way in the next week or so, hopefully.

Thanks again, Chris

i second the river's edge! i think they might be a little slow updating page. very nice guys and very knowledgible about sales. :)

The website has not reflected the actual inventory in the past. They also have a couple of mini shows each year; classes occasionally as well.

I've been here in Dayton (Kettering) for almost a year and am under the same quandry. Same result with the Rivers edge website too - everything seems to be gone almost. I haven't "roadtripped" anywhere yet, though.

The Bill Goodman show was supposed to host the NKCA for Feb. 21-22 but I read that it's cancelled due to lack of NKCA associated dealers/booth buyers??. Not the whole show, just the NKCA's involvement. It is frustrating. If I can't handle prospective purchases first I may as well order custom.

I wish I were back in Carolina right now.

The gun & knife show got moved to this weekend I believe. Or maybe not. I was watching tv last night when I saw the commercial advertising it for this weekend. I just realized I think the show I was watching was recorded from a while ago though. Damn it!!

I'm pretty sure there is one this weekend - I'm on the mailing list. Lemme see what I can dig up.

Hey, we're in luck. Looks like it's back on...

The last Goodman show I went to there was a vendor there with veeerrrry niiice stuff. $$$. A little outta my price league but some nice pieces from some of the best. He could see my frustration with the rest of the paltry offerings in the show - knifewise, that is. He said the Feb show with NKCA involvement would be the one to go to.

Hey cjp, jack and steel - Thanks for the words on Rivers Edge. I too was leary of a trip because of their website maintenance. Or actually, their lack thereof. It's on my list now.
