Long pull or short pull, what's your preference?

It's mainly an aesthetic factor so...
It depends on the blade and frame. But as a general rule, I prefer long pulls on spear and sheepsfoot blades, and nick on wharncliffe, drop and clip blades.

If I have a choice, I'll go long pull every time.

As much history as I have with the Buck 301 and 303 in the past, the looks of the new ones has kept me from getting another Buck stockman. The old Camillus made 301's were much more traditional looking than the new hollow grind short pull knives. There's something sooo neat about a long pull on a nice flat ground blade.

I prefer the aesthetics of a long pull, especially on a clip blade such as on this Peanut belonging to one of our members...

Well I think my Peanut looks pretty snazzy with a short pull. :p

I definitely like the Longpull, but it's not a deal-breaker for me. I'd always opt for it if I have a choice though. As Fausto says though, some blade shapes would not look good with Longpull such as the Wharnie. But a spear or sheepfoot looks great with Longpull.

What's with that blue Select Peanut with Longpull? I've never seen that before! I like it, is that a special run?

Being the inherently impatient person that I am (I HATE red lights! Okay, I'm working on it!), I like a long pull because there's no wasted time searching for the nick, just grab and go!
