Long pull or short pull, what's your preference?

I like the aesthetics of the long pull. In functionality I find the nick to be more comfortable, might be how my nails are shaped, I dunno. I feel that I get more of a purchase on a nice deep nail nick. Now, a long pull with an EO Notch is my cup o' tea..

It depends on the blade and frame. But as a general rule, I prefer long pulls on spear and sheepsfoot blades, and nick on wharncliffe, drop and clip blades.

Long pull usually. Blade shape comes into it.

Blues used to post spear blades with long pulls and swedges that reminded me of an old train. Can't get much More awesome than that.

Looks like I prefer the nail nick 2~1 over the long pull. I think more knives look better with a nick as well. But. Will add that this is GEC specific, they do such a perfect, deep, up angled nick that it is just a pleasure to open.

This is not set it stone though. Sometimes a long pull comes along and well, it just looks right and I have to have it
