Long Pulls

Buck slipjoints have a long history of long pull. The Schrade and Camillus eras had long pulls on all the stockmen and the small two blades. As some of the Cami. trappers, muskrats and other misc. models came into being the long pull was absent.

On the right side notice the 319 Rancher (301 with awl) and the large 307 stockman also had long pulls. The long pull actually is a way to determine some of the history of Buck knives as NO knife actually made by Buck ever had a long pull. If its got a long pull it is for sure a contract made knife.

Greg your CC knives are awesome, and Craig, I love that 319!

Gotta love those long pulls. None of these are very old, but still nice.

The Bulldog Folding Hunter has a lot of what it takes to be a 1st generation but I am not entirely convinced of it.

I am enjoying this thread so much! When I get a chance I'll take some photos of mine that have long pulls.

Thanks, Rob. She's a series X (2000) in ATS-34 and woodland rootbeer bone. Makes a good BP at 4-1/2" closed.

I can't stop looking at these , I am blown away by some of the collections you guys have, absolutely amazing!!! Thanks for sharing, please keep 'em coming.

It is the two dog stamp. Pinned shield too.

Those 2 things mean very little. Parker era Bulldogs have the same. Parker era Bulldogs are not 1st generation. How 'bout some long pulls on a Fight'n Rooster.

Here's my long pull champ. A Remington monster trapper pattern built for them by Camillus. This thing is almost a 2-blade folding machete. The pull on that spey is longer than the blades on some of my EDC slippies.

That Remington I posted and this one have a lot in common it seems. Of course yours is much better than my Remington. Do you know who or what company originally made that pattern? Remington perhaps?

I prefer long pulls. I only have a few modern production knives with long pulls, these two Eye Brand are among them:
