Long Term Survival

I liked frontier house too. But the people on it weren't survival knowledgable.

I'd rather see Les do it. People with him would make it easier IMO. The mental challenge of being alone for that long and all that. I don't care where it is really. I just thought of the island because he seemed to have to spend less energy getting food and water there. He could devote more time to other projects...

Can you imagine how nuts Les would go if he was alone for that long?
After a week he seems like he's loosing it . . . imagine him after a month or so.

I seen only one show of the frontier house. But there is alot to learn for most people. Not many even here live on a farm. For me i sure could learn alot from all the mistakes others make. I had never had to take care of animals in the cold weather. Its one thing to survive a week or so but another to live in the woods where it gets cold and not know what to expect. Yea if you live the first year the second one would be much easier. But you need to survive the first one to learn from your mistakes. Its same thing Les said on the last show that it takes time to learn the movement of animals and the weather patterns. Its one thing to say hey you cant survive with no food for three weeks. What would happen after 4 weeks if you dont eat enough every day. Long term survival is a diffrent ball game. It would be very intresting to see that frontier show from the start. I know i would learn alot from it. I read everything people have to say on here. I try most things even when some others say its foolish. Thanks for everyone i learned alot.

Yes, I would watch Les slowly starve to death.
Unless they put him on an island with coconuts, the only time he had a full belly that I remember.

We could have Bear do some voice over commentary from the Holiday Inn.
Seriously though I would want to se some experenced folks doing this and Les qualifys as well as Ron Hood or the McPhersens with a lot of how and why.

Ya he did something with his wife called "Snowshoes and Solitude". They lived out a year with nothing more than an axe and little bit of kit.

I don't think Les would be able to do a show like this. Les has young children, and to do a show like you propose would require the person doing it to spend at least 6 months in the woods. I think it would take at least that long to explore the things associated with extended survival and gather enough footage to make it entertaining. A year would probably be better.
