I have the 119 Special and the 120 General ( a longer 119 in my opinion)
I wanted to get a 124 Frontiersman but the blade seems to be a little short for a Bowie knife. Who here besides me would like a 8 or 9 inch 124 Frontiersman. Has Buck ever thought of making it a little longer? Or is the 124 ( a fat 119 in my opinion) long enough?

David, years ago Buck would make a knife any length a customer wanted for a nominal fee per inch but that was long ago.

Ok? Hey Buck i want a longer 124 for a nominal fee... bahahaha!!
How nominal would that be? A one off custom sheath wont be cheap?
I could probably have a custom sheath made by a craftsman on here. It would have to be badassp!

On a side i doubt they will make a longer 124 since they discontinued the 124 unless im mistaken?

it was reintroduced in 2012 and is currently cataloged

I should also have said a heck of a nice knife. I wish I had some like Mike has...

I dont think they are building longer 124s.

I know Mak but i was just wondering if they might have thought about making a small batch of 124 Frontiersman Specials? With a 8-9 inch blade. Reason is for Christmas my youngest son bought me a Timber Wolf bowie knife (full tang 10 1/2 inch monster) only its made in China and its not a Buck.

I can do without the etching but my son thought of me when he saw it on the tool truck. The salesman made him a deal as he was unabe to sell it.

Love that full tang. This knife means business its just not a Buck. So it will never have that special place in my heart!
So how bout a 8 1/2 inch 124? Still some 100 numbers available. Come up with another badass name like 1XX Grand Canyon or Rio Grand or Rocky Mountain or Paul Bunyan lol

Im sure no one would buy them. Too big and heavy but i would love it.
Theres a knife called the Undertaker on blade HQ that is about what i would like. Think its made in South America some where.

condor or imacasa fancy line of knives called condor...made in el Salvador but that's in central america. great knife but pricey. i have one. off topic here though.

if buck made a 124 or 640 with 8" or so blade and bit smaller not as fat of a handle in 5160 ffg or flat ground, I'd buy 2 just cause.

Yea the handle is what most complaints are about on the 124. That Undertaker i mentioned has a slim handle as i recall. That handle enhances the large fat blade.
So a coss up knife? Handle of a General width and grind of a Frontiersman add 2 inches and stir. Vola a knif i will see your 2 and raise you 1. One for me and my two sons lol
