Longer 124?

I wear between a l/xl glove and the new one just doesn't fit my hand. I've been meaning to ask Buck if I sand it down some will it void the warranty. Anyone know?

The odds of you even needing to use the warantee on a 124 seem pretty slim. I’d make the handle fit my hand if I were you.

If the blade shattered into a million pieces, I can’t see Buck denying a replacement because the handle was sanded.

Yes, you would void the warranty. I would do what you want with it and if you screw it up get another...

Wow lots of good stuff here..... i will be getting a 124 in its current form anyway even before i started this thread it was on my list.
Did i read right, there was a longer custom 124 made at one time?

Maybe a Buck Ron Hood Thug. The 5160 steel should be a better choice for chopping.

DESCRIPTION
The 070 Buck/Hood Thug is built for the outdoor enthusiast, and specifically for use as a survival and bushcraft knife. The Thug is a mid-size fixed blade, larger than the Punk and smaller than the Hoodlum model, but with all the same great features. The Hood designed Thug has a 5160 steel blade with corrosion-resistant powder coat finish while the full-tang handle is fitted with removable black linen Micarta scales. The handles in the Buck/Hood series are built with a Shock Mitigation System, or SMS, to reduce shock and wasted energy when in use. The Thug comes with a heavy-duty MOLLE compatible nylon sheath with leg strap cord and front storage pouch

I looked up that BK9 seems its a KBar Becker BK9 and that got me thinking that a KBar Big Brother 9.37 inch version of the 7inch marine fighting knife of which i own 1 kbar and 2 Camillus versions so it’s an option.

I would certainly try to get one but would not carry it on a camping trip. Almost looks like a sword

If I remember correctly it was a $1.00 a inch extra up to a maximum of 15"..But there is always the 903..A very impressive Buck!
