Longer BK2

thanks for approving. in the past 50yr of bladesmithing I have only made a few knives for myself. I am not getting younger so I am spoiling myself making
toys before I cant enjoy them anymore. and when I make one for myself only I have to approve of it. way less pressure and stress. lol but it still feels
good hearing that others find it pleasing.

I know it's not quiiiiite the same, but Hawkhead posted this sexy modified pair in 2011:

I want to thank hawkhead for giving me the idea and motivation to play with my new bk7. seeing his mods are nice. I am going for a user for myself.
so the sky is the limit.

Was wondering if you were going to grind the spine flush all the way down, and make new scales? Looks like there's a transition where the finger is pointing. I know this is the rough grind, just wondering.

EDIT: I think I'm seeing an ink line behind the spine.

It would be closer to a 2 if you used a 29 instead, with that 1/4" stock.

j/k please don't chop up a 29, that would be too painful to watch.

yes the spine was flattened on a machined flat platen. stock was removed from the spine but as you will see the handle now fits perfect. the pic is an optical illusion. the spine is flat and 90 degrees. the micarta scales are bone stock other then the dye job.
