Longmire

You can just contact the author directly via e-mail and ask him what model it was. It being a work of fiction, it's whatever the author decided. Or didn't, if he didn't research it further than the brand name.

Huge fan of Longmire! I knew he had Buck 110 but I don't recall the Schrade in season 1. I do remember Henry using the Case to dig that bullet out. Great show!

Great show...
Didn't know Netflix had picked it up, so I've only begun watching the new episodes...
The 110 seems perfect for Walt...
And like so many of us, why just one? 110 on the belt, Case in pocket??

I would maybe think Henry would have a locally made custom blade...
Or even a handed down heirloom knife... Perhaps with some of Henry's back story...

I glad Netflix didn't let the show die...
Hopefully they will continue...

In Season 3 episode Counting Coup - Walt kills David Ridges (who attacks Walt) using a Buck. I recognized the brand but not the model #. It was a long take of the knife so anyone who knows Bucks would recognize the model. Haven't seen any Case. Starting season 4 next.

One thing I've noticed from reading the books, the show is very loosely based on the books. I guess Hollywood has to mess with things.

The author of the books is a producer on the show and has given his approval of what you call messing with.

We finished Season 5, some interesting developments toward the end. One thing I love about the show is the casting. There are only a few recurring characters and they are perfect. The one that stands out to my is A. Marinez as Jacob Nighthorse, he is great! Some of camera work is good, too, especially closeups. One episode has Walt and Jacob facing off , the camera is showing close up profiles, really sets the tone.

The fact that it's in 4K is what drew me in. There simply isn't that much 4K out there. I haven't watched them al but its a decent enough show.

Thanks for not giving anything away. Just starting in on Season 4. I REALLY HATE previews. :D

I'm encouraged that the writing is holding up on this series. Often these great shows dribble to the point that they are no longer worth watching.

Yup - up to episode 6 of season 6 - only 4 more to go and this series is history. Has been consistently good.

That’s about where I am, and I’m pleasantly surprised so far.

Just finished off the last season, and I like the way they wrapped up all the loose ends. Very good show, and I'm sorry there are no more to watch.

The way it all played out, I had to watch the TV show in a mindset of it being a whole different series than the books. So much different than the books, there is just a faint resemblance of the tv show to the books. While I like the books better, they did a nice tv show. The literary Walt is a nicer guy than the tv Walt, and I think I would have liked the literary Vic better, as well as the crusty Lucian in the books. I'd have loved to see what Katee Sackoff could've done with the material of the book version of Vic!

But I am a little surprised at Johnson letting it get so changed. I guess Hollywood money is hard to say no to.

I have enjoyed the tv series very much.We are about half way through season 6 and I know I'll be sorry to see it end.
Having only read the first two books in the series I've noticed differences but I can live with that.
When the TV series is over I plan on reading the rest of the books, and I know that I will enjoy them.

Guess I ought to read the books. Enjoy the show enough to keep watching it. Each time we turn it on I tell Mrs. RedFury " that sheriff Lawnmower lives in a cesspool." How can a small Wyoming town have that much crime? Oh wait, I've spent time with Ed Fowler who has personally lived through things like some of those episodes.

Our favourite show! My wife and I have watched 2 or 3 of season 6 so far, and have enjoyed every show. Of course, I sold my Buck 110 before realizing Ol Walt carried one. But only would have kept it for that novelty. I don't know what we will watch after this season...

Netflix has another western series on called "Godless" that you might like. It's set in the old west, has some excellent talent in the cast. There a few glitches in the plot and some gratuitous violence but it's definitely entertaining.

I started watching the Longmire series recently and have gotten into the final season.
I like it but think the story lines have kinda gotten out of hand.
Also, am I the only one who has noticed the lack of reality in the gun scenes?
In season six I think it was, Caty shoots a villainous character with a lever action rifle. After she levers a round and is pointing the rifle at him, the close up shows the rifle with the hammer down in the uncocked position. Then she fires lol.
Do the producers know nothing about how a firearm functions or do they think the average watcher is that ignorant?
Also in a later episode, an investigation revealed that the slug recovered from a victim came from a .375 H & H magnum lol. Must have been one tough skinned sob.
I'm sure that there were others that I missed. Sorry for the rant but these kind of things kinda get under my skin.
