Looking a EDC for my Girl.

I currently have a Byrd CC black combo edge and I've decided that it's time to buy my girl a knife.

Obviously a EDC for a woman is much harder to choose, because a woman isn't always gonna have pockets or carry her keys in a readily accessible place. Especially if she has on a dress or something of that nature.

Im currently looking at the

Byrd Meadowlark plain with either the FRN or G10 handle.

The Dragonfly plain with FRN handle

Byrd Finch plain FRN handle

The Ladybug FRN handle

Any suggestions?

Get her a cricket, either etched or with a FRN handle. Can be carried everywhere and anywhere, viable for SD, and, most importantly for her, it's cute looking :)

The Meadowlark is a nice size for smaller hands, yet has a useful sized blade.

I looked straight over crickets lol, they just didn't look real useful.

Im going to give them a second look.

Yes the Lark is definately a top contender.

At first the leader was the ladybug I was going to go ahead and get it until I saw the other models.

The etched SS Dragonfly, the Kiwi or Kopa look pretty purdy to me. My girl wants an etched fly and she's fond of the Abalone/MOP kiwi. Little Persian also very nice.
Pink ones could be nice too. (Not my cup of tea)
:D

Why not have her handle a few folders of different sizes and shapes and then ask her what she prefers?

If she's gonna live with it and use it, it ought to be something that she's comfortable with.

What about an FRN Robin? Small, light and very capable.

That's what my girlfriend is carrying these days. She likes it a lot, however I think the backlock on a knife that small is kind of stiff.

I'm thinking of getting her one of the G-10 liner-lock Byrds (Crow? Raven? something like that), the smaller one is the one I'm talking about...

Anyone have any experience with them?

i would suggest a kopa, maybe with turquoise handle inlays, if you want to spend that much.if not i would get either a cricket or a dragonfly in SS, both are great, and pretty small.

My wife won't give up her PE Dragonfly FRN.

I've offered to get her a Pink Delica, and others but her Dragonfly is still her favorite.

Miro and Puukko both suggested the Dragon fly in SS.

Now I ask why the Dragonfly in SS over the DFly in FRN?

IMO the dragonfly in FRN is actually a bit grippier, but i just thought, that she probably won' t use her knife in a wet environnement, or that it will see some hard use, so picked SS, which simply looks a bit more handsome.Y' all know how important looks are for women;)

but really, it doesnt matter all too much.
