Looking a EDC for my Girl.

I just got my better half a pink Delica (picked it up at the Pharmacy so I wouldn't feel so guilty about picking up a Mule for myself). She actually uses it.  I even have her doing Spyderdrops with it when she's sitting around and bored.

I am a big fan of the crickets, i have a aluminium handle serrated edge i picked up at the mall about ten years ago. It's one of my favorites & was & still is my EDC

Im leaning towards these two knives.

Dragonfly FRN

Meadowlark FRN.

The Fly has a AUS-8 Blade how well does AUS-8 hold an edge?

How tough is it?

Aus 8 is very tough. However the edge-retention is less then VG-10 so it will blunt quicker. On the other hand it is easy to sharpen on the sharpmaker. I am pleased with this steel as i can get it razorsharp.

The newest productionseries in the SS handle dragonflies and etched flies have changed from Aus 8 into VG10. I don't know if the last production ones in FRN also come with this steelupgrade??

Maybe someone who nows more can chime in???
I now there was a thread there was talking about this but i cant find it:o.

My wife loves her pink D4 too. She is not really a knife person, but needs one for her work (opens ALOT of boxes). She is constantly amazed at how many positive comments she gets about it.:)

Miro and Puukko both suggested the Dragon fly in SS.

Now I ask why the Dragonfly in SS over the DFly in FRN?
Well, the FRN is lighter, so she might prefer it for that reason. I just think the SS handles are a little more classy, in terms of appearance.

I bought my girlfriend a SS Dragonfly. I think it's an awesome knife, but I don't think she really uses it very often. But what she does use all the time is the SS Byrd Finch that she keeps on her keyring. Go figure. Knowing this, I would of probably just got her a SS Ladybug for her keychain.

Another vote for the D.fly

Its nice and small with a full flat ground blade so its a great cutter and still has enough handle to be secure.
I wanted to get my GF a D.fly but she insisted on the CF Harpy
(she gave me the whole "am i not worth it" speal so i was goosed:()

I purchashed the FRN Meadowlark plain edged, it came in yesterday.

It so much smaller than my Cara Cara and I was actually envious of the knife, it's so compact and you can put it damn near anywhere. The lark was sharp out of the box and it passed the paper test.

My girl said

"Thank you baby! This knife is cool. I like than it is so lightweight."

Im gonna buy one myself.
