I just had a look at the new CRKT's here. Fairly disappointing, save possibly the assisted opening My Tighe. I've never heard of 1.4116, though I'm hoping it's something better than AUS-4 (but I'm not holding my breath).

Funky, eh?

1.4116 is a decent steel. Kershaw uses it on their military boot knife
That's pleasantly surprising, especially since even the "For Those Who Serve" Crawford FF's are now in 420J2. Win some, lose some...

Crawford P.K.

I like the remake of the A.G. Russell Sting and the fact that it's made of 1050 carbon steel though.

The My Tighe also looks like a winner, especially the version with the satin-finished blade.

And since I've wanted to get another one of the compact M16 models for a while (my M16-03Z has served me very well as a beater, but it's ready for retirement now), the M16-Z EDC is probably the ticket.
For this application the more inexpensive Zytel scales are probably even preferable to aluminum handles. And they are textured!

All in all, their new models look rather promising.

Odd to see a pair of pliers at the bottom no? The hoji has some interesting lines that drew a second look but dont think I would buy one though.

The Plier knives, mean to be carried by a worker as a self defesne weapon. Doesnt look outta place on a workbelt

I'm also looking at the Full Throttle and the M21 SF (tho I do hate aluminum on a knife)

I really like the CRKT M16 and M21 series, but I've decided to save up for a Kit Carson custom M18 flipper instead. A year ago, most of the models would have appealed to me, of course I bought most of the CRKT models that were out there, and have long since sold or traded all of them.

Does a knife look out of place on a workbelt?

RLR, not even close. Of all the knifemakers out there, Brian Tighe does NOT need to be copying anyone else's designs, given his own wild imagination. :D

Wasn't slamming Brian at all - he's an awesome artist. I just think CRKT's take on the My Tighe is a little on the been there done that side.

That's what happens when we look at SO many knives!

I guess they weren't going to go for his sculpted blades ... THAT would have been impressive.
