Looking for a concealed carry fire arm for edc

Hell, i carry a full-sized M&P in .357 SIG everywhere in a leather pancake holster, along with a dual magazine carrier on my belt, and I don't have problems with concealment. *shrug*

I thought we were talking about Glocks...

My fav 1911 setup. Shoulder rig works great for hunting, motorcycling, driving, and of course cooler weather. Can't take your coat off tho:p.

I'm a fan of the Ruger p345 for full-size ccw. I like the manual safety, sa/da action, and tactile loaded chamber indicator.

It's a .45 and is about the same size as a 1911, including thickness. The handle is grippy, the edges are smooth, and it carries well for a .45 of it's size. Recoil is surprisingly gentle too.

Is that a Galco?

Yes. Miami Classic. Its modular. The 1911 holster attached to it is fairly new. The rest is from back around 94 when I got it for the Ruger P90 .45. Either the older parts have faded,..or they've changed their tan color.

I still have the P90. Its been 100% reliable for 19yrs so far. Some call it bulky and heavy.. but its 1oz lighter then my SR1911:D. But it is pretty bulky. Mainly how thick the alum frame is. The 4.25" Smith above uses an Scandium frame. So its over 1/2lb lighter then its all steel counterpart.

My advice would be going to a well stocked gun store, and handling a few different models in the size/caliber that you are interested in. That is a good starting point to compare size, weight, and ergonomics, as well as economics.

If that were true, then every forum on the planet would be completely useless though. People ask because they need to be steered in one direction or another, comparative shopping as it were. At least that is my philosophy for asking questions here. It's how we all learn. ;)

I moved from carrying an M1911A1 - modified US Property Ithaca from 1943 to carrying a S&W M36 quite a few years ago.

The Kahr CM 9 is a good compromise between lightweight concealablity and a potent round in an easy to shoot package.

I sometimes carry a Glock 23 in a pancake holster. I also sometimes carry a Colt Detive Special in another pancake holster from time to time. No matter what I try out, I alwags go back to my S&W 442 (38spl) and sometimes carry my little Ruger LCR-22 (usually pocket holster). I prefer small over medium large even if I am sacrificing caliber.... because I am more apt to actually carry it.

The holster in the pic is a custom carry concepts shaggy appendix iwb rig made for a g19. I also carry with a jm custom kydex aiwb rig made for a g17. I use the larger holster because it helps with stability for the smaller pistol. Carrying appendix, I can conceal a 17 and 19 just as well as a 26. They are all great shooters as well.

Exactly what I am looking for my RM kydex holster broke the belt clip and was looking for one with a interchangeable clip.

Both holsters are superb and have given me a few years of service each. I lean more towards JM Custom though, honestly. Tony is great to deal with.
