Looking for a consensus of opinion on switching compounds

Finer compounds, i.e. .5,.25,.1,.050 and even .025 can be found at:

However, they tend to be jst a bit expensive. OTOH, if one wishes to "push the envelope" so to speak, they are quite effective.

That is interesting. Everything I have read from the manufactures about the Micron size particles used in sprays says they are lab made. I believe DMT even says the same about their hones. But maybe not all? I guess all the cheapish drill bits at home depot that have chunks glued to the end are the gemstone left overs most likely.

Then again, maybe that would be a reason to stay away from the Chinese sprays if they use left overs instead of lab built particles that are tailor made for the application. I guess the biggest draw back would be inconsistent particle size if that were the case?

Thanks for pointing that out as I didn't know that much of what is mined ends up in industry.
