Looking for a Fighting Bowie

I'm with Matt Lamey as far as recommendaitons.

Burt Foster or Jason Knight are a lot of bang for the buck, not to mention being great combinations of functionality and beauty.

Hi Williams Quality Knives,

First let me say I am a HUGE Rod Chappel Fan! I have 13 of his knives in my private collection...5 are Hunting Leopard Bowies.

Second...good luck getting one for under $1,000.

Third, while I love them, their Guards, because they are so big and Heavy.

Would probably not be the best choice for a "Fighting" Bowie.

The forged blades are lighter and quicker than most stock (note I said most) removal blades.

Matt makes some nice stuff as does Ray and Ellis and and and

This knife has been shown here before but it is my idea of the perfect fighting bowie. I have a crossada by dozier and the grinds are great but it can't compare to the classic fighting bowie's pictured here

All this talk of fighting bowies has lead me to call Les Robertson and pull the trigger on that Dean El Diablo. Thanks guy's for helping me spend money at X mas time. Les is a great guy and said I should get it day after X mas. Happy holidays to all.

Thanks as Bagwells are nice, a Bit high priced to be used. Have one coming in from Brazil, and an Order placed with Craig Camerer so look to be set in a bit Thanks!

Here's pic of Brazilian one, Luciano Chavez Maker, 52100 Steel forged from Ball Bearings, 12 1/2" Blade Stainless Guard and Cap, Stag handle!

this thread is ridiculous --- i'm already out of control  , i didn't need to know about all these "available" bowies! :D
